had this blasting as loud as it would go today and got a few odd looks. i am guessing with my appearance it's not normal or expected to have this coming out of the stereo. 2 incredible talents singing together though, can't beat that.

there is a live version on you tube from a few months ago in tuscany. sounded better than this version. i wish i had half the talent they do.
I think this is my favourite version:

I first heard it at the Bellagio water show in Las Vegas and fell in love with it instantly.

For some reason, I find this completely delightful. It's probably the dog...

No, I really like the guy too. By the evidence of his big bag of coins, people do appreciate someone who can REALLY sing. While I understand how the other posted videos can be enjoyed, I love how this guy doesn't need a microphone, because he knows how to produce the sound from the core of the body.

In a way, I appreciate this in the same way I do a great sports performance. You can see he is pretty much on the edge on the high notes - he puts his whole body into them, and the tuning is a little iffy... probably because he can't hear his tape so well when he's really expending energy. I remember an interview on CBC radio where an opera singer refused to demonstrate something because she knew that she was physically too close to the interviewer, and would have damaged his hearing if she really let it go.

If you watch from about 2:40, the melody modulates up, so his high note is even higher. In fact he slides around pretty good trying to get it, just after 3 minutes. Such a beautiful moment though, balance between exertion and expression, just really human. Kinda chokes me up. Notice the discrete wipe of the chin just after - singing can be a messy business. This guy is clearly a well trained pro who stopped for a little sing while walking his dog.

Loved it, thanks for posting.

See, this is the difference between Europe and rob ford supporters in Toronto - artists help make a city worth living in. I've heard the most beautiful music being performed in the Paris subways, the streets of Amsterdam, parks in Vienna. It is such a delight to stumble across it in your daily life that it makes your day brighter and your soul a little lighter.

There never seems to be a shortage of buskers/beggars downtown. Guess that makes Toronto 'world class'.

i am still in the classical groove but i wanted a little heavier today. guy at a red light asked me to turn this down, i was annoyed till he asked who it was then told me to crank it again. there is 2 versions of this song, the other has a singer i will post that in a second.

i know you purist guys won't approve but i think this is a great version of it and thses guys do really have talent when it comes to playing. also it brings this style of music to a generation that probably wouldn't have cared otherwise.

Great song, one of my all time faves. Although when I hear it now all I can think about is The Sopranos tv show lol.

The original "con te partiro" in Italian is the best, period.
