I love music all music, and as such i tuned into the MVA. These awards don't deviate from the format that is deemed successful as far awards go.

However, for those that watched, did you not notice the amount of shilling these artists use on the MVA to promote there product. This awards show as well as all the other MTV awards shows in the past, have allowed the same thing.

MTV ought to be slapped silly for the disgraceful practice they are allowing of artists selling there wares on national TV under there own moniker.

I wonder what the kick backs are in MTVs favour to allow this practice?

The artists need MTV, not the other way around, so why does MTV not stop this practice?

Tuning into this show is entertainment, it should not be allowed to be an advertisment for some wannbe hip hop star. --- Kev

Madonna, Britney and Christina

I never actually listen to the award winners when they talk...I find I need a translator anyways. But the outfits and other shennanigans That's why I watch.

All I can say is that with those three ladies, many fantasies were fulfilled last night, and many more new ones developed.

Man I love those girls! Apparently they can sing too! (CORRECTION: Apparently, they sing too?)

Back in '84, I thought there would be few things that could top Madonna in the lace boustier...Christina took that look to a whole new level last night!

Wrong. It cuts both ways. The artists need MTV to play their videos and promote their music. MTV needs the artists to fill their air time and show up at their arwards show. A win, win for both. It has always worked this way. Why is this such a surprize? After all, there is a reason why it's called show BUSINESS...

"Dont forget Christina too..."

Wasn't it weird to see the new pop queens swap spit with the old?

New fashion trend.

No complaints from me. I'm hoping more girls start wearing bustiers more often. (Maybe the GAP will produce a special lingerie line for Madonna.)

I wonder what the going rate for a Christina/Britney/Madonna
4-some would be?

I know, "if you have to ask, you can't afford it".

Too bad they were so busy showing Justin Timberlake's dumbfounded reaction shot that the camera's missed half of Xtina's kiss. Saw the photos later, but still think that Britney slipped Madonna the tongue...

Funny quote from Chris Rock was......

"we have the Olsen twins up front here, so we have to keep R. Kelly way back there"

(R. Kelly is being accused of banging a thirteen year old)

the hobby needs more capitalism
<Yawn. Like that hadn't been planned for months. God I hate MTV.>

No shit. This little stunt should extend Britney's career by six months and make us forget how much weight Christina gained.

Actually, maybe not on the latter given the amount of attention on Britney over this. Very little attention has been given to Christina's kiss in the media.

Cheers,

Christina Aguleria looked bloody hot! She was wayyyyyy to skinny before. And the black hair looks great on her.

Just through Shakira in there for a little Lesbian roundtable action and yee-haw!

Part of the reason Britney gets all the attention over the kiss is b/c the camera cut away from Christina right as Madonna was kissing her so it wasn't as good a shot as Britney's kiss. Besides, it was so pretentious and lame. I can't believe anyone actually thought it was hot. It's like two hot girls at a club kissing for attention when, really, they have no interest in each other. Gimme a break.

Anyhoo, I thought the awards show sucked (and apparently, I'm not the only one; ratings were down 11%).

I didn't see one great performance throughout the show. I didn't mind Good Charlotte (even though they are kinda a ripoff) and at least they didn't seem to pander to the audience like most of the other "celebrities."

At the end, when Metallica came out, I thought "ok, these guys will show 'em how to rock" and they played some covers. But then they played their own shitty track which zoned me right out. I mean, it was painful to listen to. They should have just let the screen fade to black and end it right there.

Overall, a very disappointing awards show.
