Check out this guys entry, "The Lion Near Seattle." This entry appeared yesterday and now I see that Mt. St. Helens is smoking. If you look further back in his entries, there are additional visions of his in which he predicted a disaster hitting Seattle in the near future. We will wait to see what happens.

I know the earthquakes were a harbinger, but he had predicted 'something' was coming a while ago.

He also predicts that the war in Iraq will lead to the downfall of western societies. He has had visions of this too. If you have read any of his books, you'll understand how he can do this.

Here is something sooner. I think he has stated that Bin Laden is on ice and will be 'captured' just prior to the election.

Please. Since the big eruption ln 1980, St. Helens has had about 25 mini eruptions like todays. Not too hard to predict there will be more, especially with all the scientists monitoring the mountain. Seattle's downtown is nearly 100 miles away so I think they're pretty safe, unless St. Helens turns into a super-sized version of Krakatau, in which case we're all in deep sh*t.

Just to be on the safe side I say we take the Don up on his offer. Finding 70 virgins might take a little time, but if you need any help, just holler.

a deathwish? the mountain is probably 200km away

I hope that Mt St Helens does not blow until next weekend. I hope to drive down and see it erupt.
200 km won't necessarily be far enough away if the right kind of eruption happens or if a lahar or debris flow comes your way and remains confined in a valley until it gets there.

In the recent geological past (but before man was in North America) there was an enormous eruption in California that covered all of about 4 states in ash up to 10 metres deep.

A lahar or a debris flow is a mixture of ash, rock and water. They are like a wall of wet cement travelling down a valley at anything from about 25 to 100 km an hour and they don't stop until they hit a huge flat area such as the prairies or the ocean. This is were they do their real damage. They can easily travel hundreds of kilometres, can be tens of metres high and will completely obliterate or bury anything in their path.

The huge eruption is a low probability event but the lahar is not. In 1985 a lahar event from a relatively small eruption at the Nevada del Ruiz volcano killed more than 23,000 in the town of Armero. Armero was 100 km from the volcano. I hope you live on high ground if your wish comes true.

He's now saying November 6th. Not necessarily the volcano, but a tidal wave created by a volcano. The 6th or there abouts.

We'll see (?)
