When I send out a message my first and last name appear in the from box. How do I change this so only my first name appears? I have looked but can't figure it out.

Thanks.

1. Sign into Hotmail
2. Click on "options" on the top right hand side
3. Click on "my profile"
4. Make changes necessary
5. Click "update"

Thanks, but I do not have 'tools' listed on my screen. I was able to get to a menu that said 'my profile', but it does not have any options to change my 'from' box.

Look for the options link in your inbox, (at the top right, next to the help link), and follow calloway's instructions.

The Hotmail sender information is the first and last name that you used when you applied for the account. That information isn't extracted from anywhere else. If you apply for a new Hotmail account, you can omit the surname, or put any first/last name that you want. I think the name fields can also be blank, if you want them to be.

Thanks guys.

When I delete my last name it won't update - it asks for a last name. Instead of fighting it, I just entered my last name initial. That'll work.

Nice pic.

Is it possible to have someones email bounce back to them rather than just blocked into the account ?

Fark hotmail... open a Yahoo or gMail account.
I like gmail..works great!

ymail is too sluggish even with broadband. I'm guessing that their mail servers are probably outdated or overloaded.

ODD anomaly

When I sign into hotmail it never takes my password on the first try.I never noticed it at first but now no matter what it ,takes two trys to log into msn hotmail.I've been careful with typing the password.Any ideas what could be causing this?

Excite now sucks

I use among other email providers excite. It changed over this weekend to a new upgraded version and it sucks. Takes a long time to load and is not user friendly.
