MP licenses, prudish Ottawa, etc ....

with the murmurs about MPs being raided lately I've noticed that more and more of the adult massage places have moved over to the licensed side. Cute lil #s and all .... so the whole thing is just to get places to buy a license? They can't cost THAT much .... seem to be easy to get and no special certifications .... just say "I'll be good" and you got one. Oh yeah, that and some cash. And then you go ahead and do whatever it was you were doin b4 and as long as the license is hangin on the wall and current you have no worries. At least if you don't offer "special services" to a cop. So why don't all places get one and head off potential probs?

speaking of the effin prudes in this city .... guess ya all heard about the street busts ... I know it's supposed to be taboo to talk about here but my point is they say they're sendiing the ladies caught to get help with their drug addictions ... now this seems to be a good idea for once ......and when they get out if they are truly helped they can charge less cuz they aren't addicted !!! These cops aren't all that bad now are they? Guess they got tired of being ripped off too .....

what did you expect from me anyway? btw, a GOOD cutback day ... zero (0) money spent, zero sex! Ok, I thought of JJ and the others and got hard, reached down there to straighten it out a bit for comfort and might have given an extra tug or 2, that's not sex is it? savin for JJ, savin for JJ !!!!!

Not quite as easy as you might think. Only licence is for a "body rub parlor". Now, as of Sept. 2005 they've changed the rules. Licence fee is $500 annually. Tightened up on location must be in "commercial" zones., needs three inspections, building, fire and health plus police report. Now needs proof of $2,000,000 liability insurance. As I reported fine is $250. Different set of rules for Theraputic Massage by Provincialy recognized RMT.

However I do agree. I don't know why most don't go ahead and get a licence. $500 a year and the added rent for commercial location is not a big chunk of the receipts.

Only if one starts and plans things out in this mode. If they already have a commitment to a 2/3 bedroom apt using the spare bedrooms for MP services, it will be hard to change (at least until the lease expires).

$2m of CGL insurance is pretty well the minimum required by any real landlord in the commercial rental space these days anyway. Depending on the underwriter and the type of business, it is only $3-$5k a year for sure.
