I'm moving to the UK in about 10days and have a couple of questions which I was not aware of until now.

Will electronic items (laptop/PDA/GSM Phone) work in the UK??

I know the plugs there are different and the electrical system is different in London (where I shall reside), but is there something I can purchase from GTA that can allow me to use my laptop and PDA without problems? Will there be any long term damage??

I just invested almost $4K on a new laptop and PDA and would hate to leave them behind as I'll need them for my employment.

I have taken a number of trips to europe with my laptop. All you need is the power converter and you should be fine.

Tolkienreader is right, however you may want to consider getting a power supply conversion in your laptop etc. once you're in London. If you're going to be there long-term, then it's probably worth the investment (though, frankly, I don't know how much it would cost).

Moving to the UK... lucky bastard..!

I hope you're loaded, because its expensive as f*ck over there! I just got back from London/Europe a week ago, nice place to visit, but I could not live there, anyhow good luck!

Yeah, I got that Input range on both my PDA and Laptop.

Would this be what I need for me to plug my surge protector and then my laptop and PDA and cellphone charger and shaver and other junk onto when in the UK?

For that cheap price, I hope I dont mess any of my devices up!

Uzo that thing will only work if the devices you plug in say they can handle 220v. Otherwise they will fry!
You need to get a step-down convertor such as: http://www.dcacpowerinverters.com/itemdesc.asp?CartId={297BAE3F-F096-4C1C-8CD2-D28E03BAEVERESTA9BA}&ic=VC100

I know some people will diss me for recommending Radio Shack but my daughter went to the UK to work for the summer and I bought an adapter that has plugs for both the UK and continental Europe. As far as I know it's working just great.

I think you can also get them for just the UK. Just tell the salesperson what you want.
