I have a downloaded version of windows XP student it is and iso file - the instructions say to burn with Nero -

I am wanting the disk so I can load in bootcamp - I have tried Nero, magic Iso etc but cannot get it to show up in Bootcamp.

How do I burn the file to a disk so that I can use it as an install disk in bootcamp.

Thanks

You must use Nero to burn the image file (.ISO) to DVD before you can install it on your computer.

In Nero, you would select "Burn image to disc", and select the ISO file

Because it is criminal to charge $400 Staples in Canada and $200 at Staples in the US for an outdated piece of software

Besides, I already own 3 licensed copies and I am now being forced to buy another - no thank you!!!!!

There is XP Pro Student edition that has been floating around for a while now. Just download imgburn and use it to burn the iso file if you have problems with nero.

Owning three legal systems doesn't excuse theft on a fourth. If you're saying that your system already has a COA (Certificate of Authenticity), and you're (re-)installing Windows under that code, that's a different story.

But Staples doesn't sell OEM copies of XP: go to a computer builder, buy a new 80G hard drive for about $40, and with it buy a legal OEM copy of XP Pro (I paid $167 a few weeks ago).

Are you talking about the operating system, or a version of MS Office?
Installing office XP 2007 as well but no issue here -

by the way XP Pro installed, Office installed - both validated - updates downloaded and whaddya know? bootcamp working great - When I have some time I will replace it with paralells.

Gotta love technology
