Probably there will not be a rate cut in interest rates tomorrow. I say the earliest is in July. It is pure politics, they will lower it slightly just before the elections in the USA. Canada does not count for much.

Yes. Peak Real Estate season.

We would be in a really bad spot if housing sales drop heavily in the summer.

Technically, we still are in a bad spot.

I was going by USA info. Let us wait till the 15th. and see if the USA will cut. They will cut soon but I do not believe it will be in June. They will give the American public a gift before the elections.

My bet is they will be cutting at least .25 on the 15th as well. If I'm not mistaken they wanted inflation to be at 3% and they are currently at 3.36% which is very close so why keep folks suffering?

There needs to be more pain and suffering because Canadians are still spending money they don't have. Record credit card and mortgage debt.

you literally typed June 5 in the title and typed "tomorrow" in your main message.

you got Canada wrong and now predicting the US won't cut. well, a broken clock is right twice a day.

So the US Fed held interest rates steady as I predicted. I suspect they can not afford to cut interest rates this year, but we may get one cut as an pre election bribe. The markets and economy is in for an up and down ride for several more years.

lol, right, so you've made a fortune by trading on your rate predictions. hard to believe when you messed up on the Canadian and US rate announcement dates, lol.

but let's set that aside , "markets...are in for an up and down ride for several more years." yeah, markers are volatile, and risk-on markets are at ATHs!

folks, enjoy the US presidential rally!
