Ok, paying mo pete that much money is crazy, but so is paying skip-to-ma-lou his new salary. Bring back KC? Are you nuts, the man dissapeared when he went to sacramento and didn't do shit. Honestly, mo pete is inconsistent last year but its because he didn't know what kind of roll he had with o'neils system. He does play hard, tenacious defence (which is more than i can say of our superstar) I would give him one more chance though.

Boy, you guys are pretty tough on my fellow Spartan...

In the '02-'03 season he played all 82 games, started 80 and lead the team in minutes and points scored, third in steals, fourth in rebounds. Not bad for a scoring forward.

Last year he again played all 82 games, only started 29, minutes per game went from 36 to 26 and you say he's inconsistent? I'd say the guy's a horse, as he was with MSU. Marshall was preferred, my man went to the bench and still came off to give solid minutes, ave. 40% from the field and 80% free throw.

I'd agree with all except giving him another chance. If he's not starting, then don't waste the money. There are cheaper bench players out there...just not as good. And I'm not saying that just because I went to the same school 20 years ago...well, maybe just a tad. But the stats don't lie. As a starter and the only one on the team to play all 82 games the last 2 years, you sure can't call him lazy. The guy was an NCAA champ while he was here, where Izzo taught him the strong "D", and on the right team, he will stand out.

His role was undefined last year. Kevin O'neil had him spotting up for 3s. He is our best defender, and I would rather keep him than pay Lammond Murray, who the raps still have.

Mo Pete is a player that should be coming off the bench. He's numbers from year to year are consistent but they're all over the map from game to game. Sure he is better than Murray. Murray is supposed to be only a scorer and he couldn't even do that last year. But $5mil per year ... I would let him go.

Mo Pete could have won Rookie Of The Year in his rookie season if he got more playing time. But then again he was part of a weak rookie year in the NBA where Mike Miller won the award. And I'd definitely say that Mo Pete is better than Mike Miller.

All Mo needs is consistent playing time on any team and his numbers will all improve big time. He has 2 of the fastest hands in the NBA on defence, and just needs a coach and a system to follow. My vote says keep him.

He's a decent NBA player - who could probably have a respectable career if he's lucky enough to get out of Toronto.

Apparently Toronto wants to keep him, and will match the offer sheet from the Hornets. Mo Pete didn't really have a system to work into last season. Like I said previously, he was used as a spot up 3 point shooter. Yes, she can shoot the 3, but his strength is in slashing towards the basket, he's a small forward. I don't think his offensive strengths were used last year in Kevin O'neil's offense. He is good on the fast break.

He can be amazing on defense if given the chance to play on a regular basis.
Exactly. Last season, Mo was used on the offensive threat on the opposing team. Tracy Mcgrady, Kobe Bryant, Shawn Marion, Baron Davis, they were all guarded by Mo Pete.
