Yes, you're right. Next year you'll have to add 1753 if you have already had your birthday this year, and 1752 if you haven't.

I am such a nerd.

Begin Grade 9 algebra:

Assume 'x' is the number of times you want to have sex, the number of children you want, the number of people you have had sex with, the number of hairs on your chin, whatever.

Double it -> 2x

Add 5 -> 2x+5

Times it by 50 -> 50(2x+5)=100x+250

Now, this year is 2002. 2002-250=1752 but if you haven't had your birthday yet, you're one year younger (1751) (look familiar?)

Subtract the four year date you were born (i.e.1970)

100x+(250+1752-1970) = 100x+(2002-1970)
or 100x+ your age (which is 2 digits)

Therefore the first digit of the 3 digit number (the hundreds) is 'x' and the last 2 digits are your age.
