NBC News reports that Bieber, his father and an entourage of 10 friends smoked a tremendous amount of marijuana and were abusive to an attendant during a private flight from Canada to New Jersey.

The aircraft was reportedly met by a host of DEA agents, police, drug-sniffing dogs and Border and Customs Protection agents when it touched down in New Jersey. The report states that the plane's cabin was still filled with smoke and an overpowering smell of marijuana when it was searched,
Justin Bieber And Crew Reportedly Smoke Lots Of Pot, Harass Attendant On Private Flight

so how does it work?

if I as much as admit to farting in public, Homeland sends me packing to Guantanamo.

This brat admits to consuming an illegal drug and gets a 'welcome to the US & A Sir!'?

More Uncle Sam hypocrisy?

Oh I forgot, I'm poor... LOL!

The flight crew should have diverted to the nearest airport and kicked them off. If they believe that a passenger is a threat to flight safety they are allowed to do that by law.
do the same rules that apply to commercial flights also apply to private jets like in this case?

Or, the roughly 0.5- 1 million people in jail for weed, and several states legalizing it.

Actually it is my understanding that there is an ongoing U.S. Customs and Border Protection investigation.

but he was allowed in, with investigation or not.

Will he be allowed back to the US again?
I can only surmise that when they searched the aircraft that although the drug dogs alerted they did not find a "smoking joint." I'm pretty sure that if there had been a bale of marijuana with his name on in in the aircraft he would have been arrested.

isn't the simple admission to smoking a Schedule I substance enough to deny entry in the USA?

plus the report of the pilot and flight attendant.

Will he be allowed back to the USA?

Let's let this play out shall we.

Just as we complain when "celebrities" are given preferential treatment, let us not "crucify" someone before the administrative/legal process has run its course because they are high profile.

Personally I believe he needs some "tough love" from his lawyers (Canadian and U.S.) as well as his manager.

There is no legal process, if you admit to drug use at the border, that's it: you're out. Any non celebrity would be denied entry to the United States. He could challenge that denial, but he wouldn't get into the country while that challenge was being heard. So why is he in?

Presumably because there was no smoking gun (smoking joint) found on the aircraft.

No I haven't. Perhaps they are waiting for us all to forget about it. Then again perhaps they are working on obtaining a secret Grand Jury indictment.

Then again since team Canada won, the U.S. has to keep the little jerk.

Has he not admitted using Crack Cocaine? If so you are correct.
At the end of the day, it all boils down to the mood of the homeland agent.

if the guy's an asshole, he will deny you entry just on spite.
power tripping assholes.

I hope most of them aren't like that.
