Montreal SP Prices

I've noticed recently that prices for hobbying in Montreal is much lower than the rates that we're being offered here in Toronto. Trolling MERB I regularly found rates from agencies at $180/hr and as low as $160/hr in some cases. I know the rates in Montreal have always been more reasonable than those in Toronto, but even with the specials offered here you'd still be lucky to find a reputable agency that offers regular rates at less than $220/hr with the industry standard still being around $240-250/hr.

I was wondering if someone had a good theory on why the industry rates in Toronto are so much higher than those out in la Belle Province? Is it a supply/demand issue, more competition in MTL or just a willingness from the consumer to pay more here? I noticed that even when agencies and indies venture west that they always alter their pricing to adjust to the Toronto market. Anyone who has visited Montreal can attest that this can not be an issue of quality of the girls available as Quebecois girls are generally as beautiful as any SPs that we have over here, and even many of our most sought after working girls are Quebec natives.

With the pricing as is, it seems like a good time to take a road trip as you could definitely some great value for your SP dollar with all the niceties and delicacies that our French neighbors have to offer.

Lower cost of living (especially housing) and lower per capita income in Montreal compared to Toronto. Not the only factors but I'm guessing the most significant. I'm guessing that $200 likely has the same purchasing power in Montreal as $250 in Toronto.

That's probably because in a third world country even an upper middle class canadian is likely affluent enough to be part of the top 1% or higher.

You are probably right. There are other factors to be taken into consideration. Rent and property are cheaper, gas is higher. Restaurant food is cheaper and the competition in food is so great that crappy restaurants can not survive. I know Americans that come up to Montreal and rave about the food. It is the culture, when I was going to university in Montreal even speaking English in the streets will get you a dirty look. The talk of separation has died down, but was rekindled by the Election of Premier Marois the Nazi. The young people of today in Montreal are mostly bilingual, whether they are Franco, Anglo or Allophone. There are some people from outside of Montreal that do not even have the opportunity to take English courses. The separatist government of Quebec sabotage the English courses so that the young Franco-phones do not learn English. They hire the worse English teachers available.

Let me rephrase my previous words. There are less opportunities in Quebec because the separatist government of Rene Levesque drove all the head offices down the 401 to the GTA. The culture of separation caused many people to believe that they will have their own country
( Quebec ) and they will not need Canada or to speak English.

Prices in Montreal have always (AFAIK) been lower than Toronto. Because of some events last summer (auto racing?), there was higher demand and prices rose. Now it seems they may be going back down to "normal" for that area.

Then again.. I don't follow things that closely over there. I may be talking out my ass
