Why is it people who shouldn't be having kids, are.... and people that perhaps should be having kids arent?

Anytime I pass through any depressed area all I see are kids having kids. I dont know anything about these people but I'd be willing to bet my last dollar that these kids cant even properly take care of themselves let alone a little baby; they are hanging out at the mall and the coffee shop with their other knocked up kid friends doing jack shit. they cart these poor babies around like some sort of accessory. What could they hope to pass on to these kids?? and why are they having them to begin with? You'd think that growing up in such an area that kids would be the LAST thing they would want/need. and its not like they dont know how one gets pregnant and how to prevent it; if they cant afford condoms there are a million places you can get them for free.... I dont get it.

Meanwhile there are a growing number of DINKs (Double Income No Kids) couples.. both are professionals...good head on their shoulders. Looks like they would make good parents with alot of knowledge to pass on... yet no desire.

What gives?

Lol so true! I have seen millionaire couples with nothing but a dog and in their 50's, while I have seen pregnant 17-year-old girls in the slums of all cities. I myself plan on having 3 kids in the future.

I see quite a few wealthy people in the 50's/60's with those lap dogs they treat as kids too...personally I think it's quite funny. I mean, I love dogs...but treating them like kids and pushing them around in baby carriages is just a bit much. But it is a free country, so to each their own. Some people in their 50's are wealthy becasue they were DINKS and had no kids...having kids is expensive, and takes a lot of time to do it right. You both can't stay at the office until 8pm every night getting ahead while successfully raising a family I would think.

As I said not long ago, I was thinking of hiring a surrogate in 5 years or so I could gave a kid as a single parent. MLAM read me the riot act because I said one reason was to continue my family line. It is one reason, yes, but not the only one by far. I'd like to have a child, really. If I don't, I'm certainly not going to dress dogs up in baby clothes and push them in a stroller haha.

The poor/lower classes that live in the slums are a mixed bunch...SOME want to rise out of the slums and make soemthing of themselves, break into the middle class, own a home, and the last thing they want is to have kids too early as that would hold them back. Others accept the slums as the norm and want to have kids as much if not more than the general population...a lot of them weren't loved a lot as children and want a child to love and to be loved by. Others think a baby will get a commitment out of their SO...there are lots of reasons...some just like kids around. Happiness is measured in different ways to different people.

It takes a reasonable level of intelligence to avoid getting pregnant... not much, just a reasonable amount. So, them what ain't too bright, tend to be procreating.

And in our welfare state, Mother's are rewarded for having a larger number of children. Cram them into the same apartment, and you have a money-making enterprise...

That is another reason I didn't include on the list of many possible reasons, yes.

It is reverse darwinism. The people with the least desirable traits are having more kids than those with more desirable traits. If this continues, successive generations will become lazier and of lower IQ.

I'm curious if the youth of lower classes are rushing into parenthood because it is the only real thing they can control. Schooling often is not encouraged or applauded because the previous parents didn't fair well themselves. Hence keeping them in the lower class.

Just a thought.

MOngrel, lol, funny you bring this up because I was thinking the same thing.

What I was thinking of though is the third world countries where there is "famine" and starvation year after year yet in these countries, the average age a female has their first child is 13 and they typically have 10 or more.

As stated, it has something to do with "intelligence" or the ability to say to oneself: should I or shouldn't I have a kid? And then take steps to act on that decision......

Young girls, like all women are very insecure, and if they put out, figure that some guy will love them, cause they wanna be loved, and once they get knocked up, the guy books it, and they are stuck with the demon spawn.

Rinse, lather repeat even 15-20 years, and you populate a country.

And we get stuck footing the bill, through the welfare system.
