Eat your veggies and fruit and don't eat processed foods, and your weight takes care of itself...I've lost 40lbs doing that myself.
Hey there foots, I'm in the same boat. I traveled quite a bit to the U.S. for 2 years, eating in restaurants 2 weeks out of every month. I followed my momma's orders and cleaned my plate every time. Went for a checkup back in January and my BP was wayyyy over the limit and my weight was bad too. I started really watching my salt and the calories and am now fitting back in to clothes that I could not fit into for years! Ok, so I've not traveled to the U.S. in the past 6 months and I've eaten at home 95% of the time since then.
CBC had a article on the news this week. They started investigating the salt and calories of many popular restaurants, like Montana's, Outback etc. Even the supposedly healthy salads are not healthy. Caeser salad too many calories to count and salt over the roof!
Just did a bit of research, on CBC the show is Marketplace. The episode we saw was on Wednesday evening but it is repeated as follows:
Wednesdays at 7:30pm on CBC Television.
Repeats Saturday at 3:30pm and 7:30pm ET on CBC Newsworld,
and noon Sundays on CBC TV.
In this case, CBC is very worth watching if you're concerned about your health. I'm going to watch it again to get more details.
