If you see this....

Big deal, this was only JR hockey. Only if he did to a team like the Chicago Black Hawks, or LA Kings then we can talk. ;)

Just being sarcastic BTW.

MM couldn't be developing with a better franchise than the London Knights. Powerhouse junior program. I can't wait to see all this talent the Leafs will have up front in a couple of years with Marner, Nylander, Matthews/Puljujarvi and Stamkos :D

We also have Pittsburgh's first pick and that could be Nylander's brother.

One great goal doesn't make one superstar, neither does a 5 point game.

Problem is if they all develop to full potential the Leafs couldn't afford to keep them all under the cap.

This is a good problem to have.

Sounds like life in Chicago, and as you noted... that's a good problem to have.
That's exactly what came to my mind as well. I'd say it's been pretty successful in the Windy City. Toews, Kane, Keith and Seabrook all locked up long term I believe.

Toews, Kane, Keith all signed through the 2022-23 season
Seabrook signed through the 2023-24 season.

I have to pinch myself, are my fellow Leafs fans finally beginning to see the light?

Stamkos, forgedboutit. If they sign him it will be putting the cart before the horse, we don't need a repeat of the Burke fiasco. If perchance they miss out on Aston Matthews then they should draft the best available defenseman - then they'll have their Seabrook. Reilly will only get better with time but I'm not convinced on Gardiner. I'm somewhat disappointed that Stuart Percey hasn't cracked the lineup yet - he has refined offensive skills.

Marner is atleast 2 more year away from making the team. He will need atleast one full season with the Marlies, and then add about 30 pounds to be able to play with the big boys..

Mitch Marner cannot play with the Marlies next season, it's Maple Leafs or Knights (or Europe?).

According to Wikipedia, Mitch Marner weighs 8 lbs less than Patrick Kane, who is 9 years older than MM.
Kane seems to be able to play with the big boys.

Totally.

Signing Stamkos now makes no sense. He's a great goal scorer, but not the proto type centre that most successful teams built around. He's also not known to have exceptional leadership quality to guide all these young guys coming up. He's an upgraded version of Kessel but I don't think this management group will make the same mistake as Burke did. This team will not be competitive for at least 2 more years and I don't see why he'd want to a part of a long term rebuilding process anyway. Montreal and New York are more likely destinations.

It looks like another season in JR but He's going to be way too dominant in JR. He has to be 20 years old as off Dec 31 to play in the AHL. He won't be 20 until May 5th 2017.
