Read in the paper last night that a local restaurant has purchased the Mirage and plans to renovate and open next August. As usual Ben could not be reached for comment on where he is moving to.

i thought that the "adult" permits were very site specific and that was why the one that was by the hospital totaly vanished never to be replaced as cambridge wanted out of the biz?

I've heard the Mirage is moving as well. Since the country bar moved to Brantford I heard the Mirage was going to do something like the Velvet Lounge has done and have a dance bar as well as the dancers. One of my buddies told me that they were also holding swingers parties at the Mirage once in a while. Too bad the place is a dive now. Used to be ok.
On another note I went to the Velvet Lounge a couple of weeks ago and the talent there was not so good either. Although it was a weekday and a little early in the night but I wasn't impressed with the girls at all. Nice place though. My girlfirends say that Friday or Saturday night (can't remember which) in the upstairs section is pretty busy.
Anyone been to Velvet on weekends? How are the ladies?

I understand the Mirage is planning on moving to an industrial area. They seem to thiink their permit is not site specific, but from my understanding from media reports they might be wrong.

I heard from a pretty reliable source that the owner of the Mirage has bought the Steelworkers Hall, which has been for sale for a couple years. It is on Collier McMillan Drive (which is an industrial area) just a block to the east of Hespeler Road. It's a pretty big place. Should be interesting. Haven't been in the old place for years.
