I don't understand the Democrats refusing to campaign or be on the ballot because the state moved up its primary. It seems self defeating to me.

Because it was to be 1 state from the west and 1 state from the south. Nobody asked Michigan to move up their voting date. The state was told not to but still went ahead, so screw them...I did not go vote.
