So far I have been really impressed by the young shooting guard from Mississauga. He has already broken into the starting line-up. If he continues to shoot well, and get a better handle, he will be a star in the Big 10.

By the way, I am talking about college basketball, Go Blue!

Big 10 ball isn't what it used to be. Good for the young lad though, it's nice to see the Cdn boys have success south of the border.

What are you talking about?? The Big Ten has 6 teams in the AP top 25, and is widely regarded as the best and toughest conference in the country this year! No question Big 10 football is down, but basketball is riding high!
Indiana was #1, until they lost saturday, and Michigan is now 2nd in the polls.

Good for Nik. He flew a little under the radar in high school but is showing his stuff. Other Canadians are doing well too. Daniel Mullings from Scarborough has made the starting line up in New Mexico, Anthony Bennet at UNLV is getting a lot of praise, and of course there is the Andrew Wiggins lottery.

Myck Kabongo is still sitting under investigation for some fishy business but knowing who his manager/mentor/club coach is that's not surprising.

My bad, haven't been following this season that much. Its still early though. You have to admit that over the past few years it has lagged behind their counterparts - Big East, ACC, SEC, Big 12 in overall quality.

Myck Kabongo suspended by NCAA for rest of basketball season
Should be a warning to Canadians (or kids in general) that there are plenty of snake oil salesman coaches in the AAU circuit who are only looking out for themselves (Myck was managed by the guy CBC did an expose on last year).

Big East, ACC yes, but not the Big 12 and SEC. The SEC only has Kentucky and Florida, the rest of the conference is pretty weak! The Big 12 has never been a power in basketball.

Well if you believe his father, he is already gone. I think that would be a mistake, although he is better than a year ago. I say, stay in college and get better, the NBA isn't going anywhere.

He has a big game tonight with MSU, they will key on him as the main option, now that Trey and Tim are gone.
You're absolutely right. Nik would be better served in working on his all-around game. He can easily be a Top 20 pick if he stays in school. Coming out in the 2014 Draft would be a big mistake.

Sorry but Basketball (despite James Naismith) is my least favorite team sport.
Why did you need to tell us that, who asked about your feelings on basketball??? I'm sure there are lots of people on this board, who don't care about college basketball, and don't feel the need to comment.

Love his offensive game. If he can work on strength, conditioning & defense he can easily be a top 10 pick in the 2015 Draft. He is not close to being NBA ready if he comes out in the 2014 Draft. Hope people around him are not pressuring him to go pro due to financial considerations.

Nik leads Michigan to Big Ten Champs(regular season). He just might be named Big Ten player of the year. I still hopes he comes back for his junior year, I'm a Michigan fan.

Hail to the Victors!
Go Blue!

Well it's official he's gone, as a Michigan fan I am sad, but not surprised. One more year of experience and growth in college, and he could have been a lottery pick next year.

He's going to have a problem with the quickness and speed of the NBA. When ever a guy got the ball, and noticed Nik on him, they would take him off the dribble to the hole. He's just not blessed with quick feet, and they will exploit that in the NBA.
