Metallica’s new song is their ballsiest in decades

After st Anger I stopped paying attention to them. That snare sounded horrible. The whole album sound like they got their instruments at wallmart and didnt even tune them. Hopefully this new album will not be like St Anger.
This is probably going to be one of their best albums since Justice for all. Lars even started using his double bass again. It's been just sitting there for years. I like the song even though it a very simple structure but beats St Anger for sure.
Death Magnetic from 2008 was a throwback to their '80s albums. Hopefully this one will be as well. Seems like a ridiculously long lead time though... it doesn't come out till November.
Did Metallica bring in Rick Rubin to revitalize their sound like Black Sabbath did? Great drum work by Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine).

After the black album, they started to put out a bunch of albums that weren't them, or their fan base. Load and Reload. God's know what they were thinking...
Many of there fans were still young enough that they wanted to hear the hard stuff, but Metallica decided to start wearing eyeliner and black nail polish and make songs that were much softer and didn't appeal to the legion of rockers whatsoever. (They also filed a lawsuit against Napster and lost many fans cause of this)
Now that many of there fans are older and probably listen to softer stuff themselves, these guys make an album like them and their fans are in there teens.
Did things ass backwards.
