Great News for all sports fans!

The pride of Barrie, Ontario, Meredith Boxberger, a pleasant and attractive blonde (5'8" tall, about 130 lbs), has qualified for the July 4th Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Championship in New York. She won the Nathan's Qualifier in Charlotte, NC on May 24, 2014 with an engorging of 18 hot dogs in the allotted time of ten seconds. Although she considered this performance as poor, since 60 or so hot dogs would be required to defeat the reigning champion, Jaws Chestnut, Meredith has indicated that she would be ready to rumble when the 4th arrives.

She is currently ranked #19 on the IFOCE rankings with only one record to her name. Let's cheer her on to a spectacular finish next month. Toronto needs a champion!

Tomorrow is the big day for Meredith Boxberger as she goes against the cream of competitive eating in the world famous Nathan's Fourth of July hot dog eating contest. Let's cheer on the Barrie native loudly and succinctly as she strives to win the ladies title. Go Meredith!

This chick ate a burger (no pun intended) at a place called Big Chris's in Barrie that I tried to eat. (it's called the ultimate dirty burger) This burger is so big, I took about 80% of mine home and ate it for 3 days and still ended up throwing some out. How this chick ate whole thing, I'll never understand, but to do it in an hour makes it even that much more remarkable.

Hurrah for Meredith!

She finished fifth today in the ladies division of the Nathan's Big Event at Coney Island, New York and pocketed $1000. She devoured 18 hot dogs in ten minutes while Miko Sudo downed 34 to upset the Black Widow Sonya Thomas. Joey Chestnut won the men's division with 61 downed, over 130 pound Matt Stonie, his closest rival, who was a mere 4 dogs behind.

The crowd numbered some 30,000 souls with another million or so watching on ESPN. A good time was had by all.
