All of the students and teacher are guilty. These guys are not true Karatemen. True Karate is used for defense, not for attack. A true master has control of everything, first and foremost his mind and actions, and lastly his fist.

The mentally ill opponent did not strike first. These guys are just pathetic examples of human beings. Bullies of the worst kind. Who picks on and beats up the mentally ill?

The last I heard, the victim did NOT die, although he was thrown in a dumpster. Also, Bobby Blythe, the guy who videotaped this, is facing legal troubles, but has not yet been imprisoned.

4) His current whereabouts are unknown but he was institutionalized a few times since that incident.

A point to note in such discussions is that as a general legal rule of thumb, your right of self defence stops when the attacker is unable to attack you or is attempting to flee (you typically could however "sit on them" detaining them until police arrive).
