Some Doctors's groups are suggesting that they do not want the responsibility of being accountable to their patient regarding dosages, effects, drug interactions and risk/ benefits of cannabis once it is legalized. These doctors wish to not be the "gatekeepers for medical marijuana" once it is legally available for recreational use. They believe that the level of research on cannabis usage is far less than that of other medications that they are allowed to prescribe and therefor wish to wash themselves of any responsibility or liability.

Many doctors are also simply drug pushers for big pharma and marijuana is a threat to their bottom line. I suspect some of their “concerns” are .... funded by big business.

I’ve had friends on coctails of prescribed drugs where the doctors admitted they cant predict the interactions, but you need them, so take them all anyway. One friend who is HIV+ may have been sicker from the interactions of the multitude of drugs than the affliction. He’s been moved, by a great doctor, off a bunch of the pills and prescribed pot. He looks better, feels much better, and is a convert.

Marijuana isn’t a panacea, and my friend is still on some hard core pills, but I’m calling BS on the motives of at least some of the doctors concerns.

By the way, not calling the OP out, it’s an interesting article, just needs critical dialogue.
