In a somber voice, and speaking on behalf of all Torontonians, his Worship, Mayor Rob Ford spoke with the media today, finally being quoted on a more reverent topic, that being the death of a Metro Officer.

“He worked very hard and that’s why we have to support front-line police men and women. They sacrifice their life day in and day out and it’s a very sad day today," said Ford.

It was nice to see the media remain dignified, and not delve into other matters.

May he RIP.

Who cares. They're supposed to do that anyways.

What, the media didn't swarm Ford after with questions of his drug and alcohol abuse? Remarkable!

You are right Dooby boy. He did it himself. I suspect he will turn things around.

Ford still continues to draw throngs of people. Just look at the Bills game.

Now that he is getting help, toned it down, people are finding him more mayoral and are going to him at times like this for comment....as opposed to the Deputy Mayor Kelly.

Good for Rob.

Of course - he is an international buffoon. The only thing that is more ludicous than having a drunken, crack smoking menace to society who is a mayor of a major city is that like Charlie Sheen and other train wrecks, there are people who support losers. They are the same level as those girls who propose to serial killers. It is so bizarre that people on the outside can't help but watch.in fasination.

Chris Farley is alive and mayor of Toronto. The Rob Ford movie on youtube is spot on.

The family didn't need the tabloid celebrity Ford had become. Should have sent sometime more serious, and also someone not presently refusing to cooperate with the police.

You do realize that if that goof of a mayor never smoked crack, didn't drink himself into stupors, didn't associate with gangsters, didn't drive drunk, or never publicly talked about his wife's vagina, the media would have nothing to comment about. All the Ford supporters act as if it was the Star and Robin Doolittle that put the crack pipe in Ford's mouth.
Easy brother, don't get your panties in a knot... I never said Ford didn't bring it on himself nor am I acting like the Star put a crack pipe in his mouth. I'm just surprised they didn't take the opportunity to question him once again after commented on the death of the officer, nothing more.

Please don't give me that speech about how cops protect us lol.
So why don't you enlightened us and tell us what cops do for us if they're not protecting society from law breakers? I'd like to hear what their mandate is from you.

This comment is as delusional as the mayor himself. I saw him at the game and the look on his face made you believe he really thought so many people were clamoring for a photo with him because they thought he was an awesome mayor and they were supporting him. It's like he was completely tuning out the constant calls of "Hey Rob, let's smoke some crack! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA".
