I hadn't even heard that he was on trial. In June he was found guilty on ten counts of shipping obscene material through the U.S. mail and his firm MaxWorld Entertainment Inc., guilty of a further ten counts. The jury found that the "films" went beyond the Tampa Bay region's community standards. (all I can say is I guess the heck so). Today he was sentenced to a term of three years and ten months imprisonment and a $7,500 fine and his company MaxWorld Entertainment Inc., was fined $75,000.

Geeezus!! Is the US still doing these ridiculous trials??!! I thought they died out in the early 80's.

Ohh well, he's going to appeal all the way up to the Supreme Court anyway. So the dumb-ass neo-Right conviction and sentence will likely end up getting tossed out.

Two points a) he really is at the far edge of the spectrum b) if he'd used UPS or FedEx they wouldn't have been able to charge him with what they did.

I'm thinking WTF? His stuff is hardcore, yes, but there are many other porn sites (e.g. meatholes.com) that are the same if not worse. Where does one draw the line?

...agree.

Well...not really. I guess to be honest I AM a bit concerned about 1st amendment rights in this case.

But just a bit. Not much.

Max Hardcore and that "Girls Gone Wild" guy are both piece of shit who deserve what they having coming to them in prison (short of death)...and I hope they get LOTS of it.

On a related note...FWB and I were talking about this last night (she is into porn, but thinks Max Hardcore is dogshit as well)...just how fucked up does your life have to be that you'd LET yourself be subject to that kind of treatment for a few thousand dollars, if that? Max doesn't use "name" porn actresses...the type who can command 5 figure fees. Indeed, I once talked to a stripper who told me she had a nameless faceless friend in the business who told her "typical" fees for "typical" stuff when you are a nobody is like $1000 a scene.

Is $1,000 worth enduring that kind of degradation? Not in my book...

My friend theorized all the girls have drug habits to support....

Anyways, Max wasn't so bad. It's not like some of the underground/behind the counter stuff you can find here if you ask around at the right places, now that shit is twisted.
...afraid to even think about it. I didn't know it got worse.

How can anyone find this stuff arousing in anyway? How fucked up must you be to masturbate to stuff like this? I mean that is misogyny on a level incomprehensible....

We wanna shoot a kid in the back of the head for killing some animals, but protect the rights of people who viciously degrade humans for profit?? This is a fucked up world...

as surprised as some of you are, Max does push the boundaries... he has had models report being injured physically and emotionally during his shoots in the past.

and alot of the porn A-listers cringe at the mention of him as they feel he takes the industry back 20 years as for all the advancement they've made in trying to establish a self-regulated and legal industry.

Yes there was this one Max fisted apparently without her knowing it was coming, or at least she didn't know what she was getting into. The fisting was so brutal she had to be hospitalized from the injuries.

You guys are kidding yourselves if you think these "obscenity" trials are being conducted to protect porn stars.

I accept the point about women being injured. If this guy is harming women against their will, he should be arrested.

But that's not what this case is about. This is about "community standards," which is a polite way of defining state censorship. It's old-fashioned social conservatism and nothing more. I hope the Supreme Court does the right thing and overturns this conviction.

That's a shame. I don't know if he will appeal all the way to the Supreme Court as he is a mere porn producer and I doubt he has the resources to fight this thing. Max's stuff wasn't for everyone, I mean, it takes a certain type of pervert to enjoy watching women dressed and acting as pre-pubescent girls getting throatfucked until they vomit, fisted, urinated on and anally ravaged.
At the time of trial the poor man was making $480,000 a year just from video sales.

The U.S. Supreme Court has been fairly supportive of community standards.

It's also about being complacent. If you are "Max" do you take the risk of sending something by mail or do you pay a few more dollars and send it by UPS.

If it were just "old-fashioned conservatism and nothing more" then odds are in Florida they would be going after interacial porn flicks. I take it at face value that they are looking to draw the line on something "obscene beyond community standards." Drawing that line somewhere this side of "Max Hardcore" doesn't bother me very much.

DrRogers has left the Bld
The guy is a pig - Amber Moon did a movie with him and she told me how disgusting he was. BUT - he should not have been charged - obscenity laws are ridiculous when the parties are of age and consenting.

I watched a couple of his early films and it was pretty clear he hated women. Difficult to feel much sympathy for him.

Go to his website and you see how truly fucked he is now . If I was him I'd be puking right about know .
I read that they'd seized several of his websites.

For those interested:

18 USC § 1461. Mailing obscene or crime-inciting matter
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/...tml/uscode18/usc_sec_18_00001461----000-.html

18 USC § 1462. Importation or transportation of obscene matters
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/...tml/uscode18/usc_sec_18_00001462----000-.html

18 USC § 1465. Production and transportation of obscene matters for sale or distribution
http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/s...tml/uscode18/usc_sec_18_00001465----000-.html

I also must add in light of 18 USC § 1462, that using UPS wouldn't have saved him, he would have had to have used a private courier service.
