Mats Sundin bashing !!!

I just received this from a Leaf/Sundin basher:

"mats sundin????????????first making 9 mil, now making over 6????..why????,,.,even at 82 games, he wouldnt get a point a game..no fucking way....he steals a paycheque from the leafs, thats about it, he's past his prime....you leaf fans waiting for him to what??..explode unto the scene now and have great years??..newsflash,,,he had that 6 years ago...he's now hitting mid 30's....downside of his career, for sure....later....peace"

Anyone logical remarks to counter this stupidity?

The guy is still one of the top players in the league. The Leafs have never given him two solid linemates at the same time. It's hard to soar like an eagle when you play with a bunch of turkeys.

Sundin is one of the classiest guys to ever wear a Leaf uniform, both off and on the ice.

I like the turkey motif. It's fitting because Sundin is done like a turkey. Put a fork in him he's done. Two solid linemates? Are you kidding. Who the hell were Gilmour, Clark, Roberts, Thomas, and Nieuwendyk? Not chumps each one of them could put the puck in the net. Doesn't get much better than that in the way of linemates. And you're right he's classy but I'd rather have a disturber/scorer like Claude Lemieux, Theo Fleury, or Dino Ciccarelli on my team other than Sundin, at least they had heart. That's H-E-A-R-T. One thing that Sundin does not have in abundance. And never will.

It's time to move Sundin. Wendel Clark was everything Sundin was during his career and when he was on the downside, we traded him away for a young Mats. Time for the wheel to turn again. The Leafs need to go through a rebuilding anyways.

Feguson won't move him, but even if he wanted to .. what team would bite for 6mil ?... He's not a proven playoff guy so no one will bite for the streatch ...

As a comparison doesn't Igilna make about 6 mil .....
