Massive Israeli Spying on the USA.....WHY?

Israel is our supposed 'ally', and has had an inordinate amount of influence in US policy for years.
These video clips indicate that Isreal knows more about what's going on in the USA than clueless Dubya and Team 'w' put together!!!......

What is surprising is that Fox News came out with this expose.

These are the videos AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) lobbied FOX News to remove from their website. Since then,. AIPAC has found itself embroiled in yet another espionage case, this time involving an operative inside the very Pentagon office from which many of the now discredited claims abut Iraq's WMD.

FOX News threatened this website to force the removal of these videos, but they appear here at this outside website for those of you unaware that on 9-11, the largest foreign spy ring ever uncovered in the US was in the process of being rounded up, and that evidence linking these arrested Israeli spies to 9-11 has been classified by the US Government!

I don't doubt it.

I watched some of the video and it doesn't really come to any conclusions, but why should this come as a surprise to anyone? It's pretty commonly known that everyone spies on everyone as much as possible.

There's a quote in the video itself which explains it well:

"The Israelis are motivated by strong survival instincts which dictate every facet of their political and economic policies... It agressively collects military and industrial technoilogy and the U.S. is high priority target."

BTW as far as 9-11 goes, I heard that the US was warned by Israel and its own internal agencies about an attack right before 9-11, but the information wasn't or couldn't be acted on.

It's very cynical but it's not outside the realm of possibility that some sicko in Israeli intelligence decided to keep specific info about 9-11 from the americans so that an attack on US soil would happen and there would be more support of Israel and less for the Arabs as a result. However I don't believe that anyone could have foreseen the magnitude of 9-11. Even the terrorists didn't think the towers would actually fall.

All is all I'd have to say HO HUM to the opening salvo in this thread.

Faux News serves as the GOP mouthpiece putting out news the way Team 'w' wants/likes it put out.....all united, on the same page, all hunky-dory, etc. Israel is a big ally to the neocons and Team 'w', so it just seemed strange Faux news would repeatedly air stories that puts Israel in a bad light. Sure all nations spy on each other but this appears above and beyond what most would expect. Hundreds of Israeli agents have been arrested/deported so far, far more than other nations friendly or foe.

And is this schism just another irony piled upon the the ever growing refuse dump of past ironies, or is it more akin to another real Israel/Team 'w' neocon cabal conspiracy?

israel and the US have a complicated relationship. Remember when israel attacked the USS Liberty at the onset of the 1967 6day war? The US refused to help it's own ship under seige. A soviet ship came to help.

The US "held" the more talkative survivors of the attack so that they could not make details public.

Coincidently the ban on arms sales to israel was over in 68 and by 71 israel was spending $600 million a year on american-made palestinian killing machinery.

The US is hanging on to old allies. Israel was the only ally they had in that region for the longest time. The rest of the countries had ties to the Soviets. And even now you see Hamas make a visit to Russia to explore the old ties to mother Russia. Old habits die hard.

Those caught, may just be the tip of the iceberg. There are probably many more that haven't been discovered as yet. Most Americans easily accept Israelis as friendlies, myself included, without question and never would imagine them as spies in the first place.
