I'm surprised no Gilligan fan has posted this yet.

DRIGGS, Idaho - Dawn Wells, who played Mary Ann on “Gilligan’s Island,” is serving six months’ unsupervised probation after allegedly being caught with marijuana in her car.

She was sentenced Feb. 29 to five days in jail, fined $410.50 and placed on probation after pleading guilty to one count of reckless driving.

I don't get it. She gets caught with some pot and gets 6 months probation - meanwhile some of these hotshot kids (lohan, hilton, spears, etc.) are getting busted for blow, dui, hit and run, etc., and they are getting off the entire charge half the time.

What gives?

I would have to say the reason she got such a 'harsh' punishment relative to the trainwrecks, oops I mean, newer female celebrities is because of where she got into trouble with the law - Middle of Nowhere, Idaho vs. L.A.

Also, she isnt exactly the biggest name celebrity these days and who knows what her personal cash flow is like - the other, younger celebrities mentioned all have tons of money flowing in (or already accumulated by Granddaddy/Daddy Hilton) and have major corporations i.e. record labels or movie studios (or even a gigantic hospitality corp.) who have a serious interest in them spending as little time as possible unavailable to perform (or just want to keep the family name from being dragged through the mud more than it absolutely has to after the stupid actions of its younger generation).
