I never new Schneiders products were made by ML. No wonder I have green/grey shits... I don't wish this Listeriosis poisoning on anyone. Felt sluggish for about 2 weeks, got very painful last night and had to get admitted. It sucks.

here's the most recent list FYI:
http://www.mapleleaf.ca/pdf/BartorRdProductRecallList.pdf

What's worse is the 'expert' at the deli said Schneiders and Artisan brand stuff aren't affected by the recall turns out nearly everything in a Deli counter is made by ML.

also:
a person infected with listeriosis can take up to 70 days to show symptoms
it's not fun. my condition seems to get worse and worse.

21pro, hope fully your doctor prescribed antibiotics. Listeriosis is mostly of concern to the elderly and pregnant women, but any food poisoning sucks.
If you're not on antibiotics, got to emergency and get some.
Cooking kills listeria, eating uncooked meat is the problem and most deli meats are eaten uncooked. The hot dogs would likely be a problem raw as well.
Pizza anyone? :)

It looks like anything labelled Maple Leaf is crap, not just the hockey team
Their website suck's too. I'm now on my eighth try on downloading that pdf and it's going to take 3 mins to download a 30KB file.

Interesting to read just how many well known Canadian name brands are in fact Maple Leaf now. The fallout just from that recognition could cause some issues down the road, ie: who would have thought that anything from Shopsy's comes from ML? I guess it is a sign of the times where everything is centralized but sort of annoying to actually see how many products sit side by side in a grocery store giving a false sense of competition only to find they are all made of the same origin.

I never buy deli meat at the market but have the occassional sandwhich while out and about...wonder if ML supplies the chains with product?
I noticed on the list that Artisan is one of the affected products. That is one of the Dominion/A&P deli lines.

What the hell is going on with our food supply? In the last few years it seems like every other week something else is being recalled. Everything from meat to tic tacs. It's getting to the point where you're afraid to eat or drink anything.

Who supplies Arby's? Anyone know?

I think that they said that the only fast food chains that were affected are Subway and McDonald's.

The doctor is in
What about Schneider's Grill Em's sausages?? I ate a whole pack of them last week before the recall.

Subway, Arbys and Quizno's are ok.
Mr Sub, Rotten Ronnies, Boston Pizza, Tim Hortons (Roast Beef mostly for all) are on the list.
Look for 97B on the package.
Either after the letters est.(ablishment), in a circle with a crown, or by themselves. 97B is the code for the plant. For all home meats. Pre-sliced only.

All the info is also on the cfia website.
