People stopping or getting out of their car to help a stranded motorist or animal are getting hurt or killed more often than necessary. Maybe a life lesson here, or not.
It's incredibly dangerous to stop your car on the shoulder or median of a highway. You have to be so careful and assume that someone is going to hit you. If you have a flat tire it's safer to pull onto the shoulder, put on your hazard lights and drive to the next exit or to an area where you can pull way off the road. Nobody should lose their life trying to help another person on the highway.

I've seen people get out of their cars on the 401 after a minor collision and stand between the bumpers while they exchange ownership/insurance info. I've rolled down my window an yelled "do not stand between the vehicles, you will lose your legs". But people don't think about it.

It is amazing how many people don't know the "Move Over Law" when there's an emergency vehicle (Fire, Police, Ambulance or tow truck) with their lights flashing on the side of a highway. Violating it can result in a $2,000 fine and three demerit points.

Semi drivers along that stretch have ZERO perception of speed during any weather. Everyone else is doing 60, they are doing 100 in a storm...incredibly arrogant.Would not be surprised if charges come from it, storm or no storm..
