"A 19-year-old man has died after being found beaten and stabbed outside a Mississauga strip club – making him Peel Region's eighth homicide of the year.
Officers were called to Kennedy's, a popular club on Kennedy Rd., just before 2 a.m. yesterday.
They found Luis Estrada-Lemmon with mortal wounds in the rear parking lot. The Brampton man had been beaten and stabbed several times. He later died in hospital.
Police were canvassing nearby homes as they sought to piece together Estrada-Lemmon's last hours.
An autopsy is expected to take place tomorrow.
The victim's family gathered at a Thornhill home last night. They declined to comment.
Outside the strip club, police set up a mobile command post as they interviewed staff and customers at the club and nearby residents.
They did not confirm whether the victim had been inside the strip bar earlier.
Peel's 2008 murder count is almost twice as high as at this time last year. Three of this year's homicides have been stabbings.
Estrada-Lemmon isn't the first to suffer deadly wounds at or near a GTA strip bar.
In January, bystander John O'Keefe was killed by a stray bullet on Yonge St. as a duo was being ejected from the Brass Rail strip bar. Two men face first-degree murder charges.
In 1999, a 22-year-old was found dead of stab wounds behind west-end Scanty's lounge on Arrow Rd.
In 1996, a 33-year-old Etobicoke man was beaten and stabbed at a club on Royal Windsor Dr. and died of his injuries in hospital"
