The guy invited her over, and flew her to his place. They spent the night together, but didn’t have sex. There was no agreement beforehand that there would be. He’s now very angry.

My opinion, is that he shouldn’t expect sex. The girl, of course, would except the trip and gifts, but unless there was a written or verbal agreement that there would be sex, she shouldn’t be forced to.

Jesus. I would never drop that coin on a woman who I was not in a relationship already. Honestly at this point in my life if im dropping that money there is something wrong with me and the type of women im choosing. Even paying for sex become lack lustre. Unless sex work is decriminalized in a jurisdiction it wouldn't matter. Illegal clauses are typically stricken from a contract (potentially invalidating a contract), but IANAL.
