Journey sprang from early Santana. The melody section consisted of Greg Rolie (left of Steve Perry) and Neil Schon (far left).



Greg Rolie leaving Journey in 1988 didn't make sense to me, on further review he left in 1980. He recommended to the band that Jonathan Cain replace him. He wrote, along with Neil Schon and Steve Perry, the band's biggest hit.
