My old time favorite (ibook G4) is going to have to retire soon, and while she's served me well for the last 5 years, I find myself lusting over her replacement, the new aluminium 13-inch MacBook:

I just can't afford her rates right now.

You know what they say: it's not the size that matter, it's how you use it.

My life revolves around my computer. I carry it around with me all the time. So, the lighter she is in my bag, the better it is for me. No point in a arm candy if she's too heavy to carry around.

Indeed same is the case with my old Sony Vio Slim Laptop which i think would die naturally soon, its 13.5" too but i have already bought another Slim and more sophisticated Sony Vio of 16.9" in its place as an extra laptop waiting in line to be fully utilized soon

Gen, if you can bear to pull yourself away from the Mac OS, then may I recommend the Asus 1000HE:

1) 1.5 kg
2) 9 hours battery life
3) XP OS
4) 30% of the price of the Mac

Maybe because when you do the maths properly, you realize that my rates of 250/hour doesn't translate in me making 250 hours 40 hours a week 52 weeks a year.

The one I want (going only with the basics - that's all I need) goes for CAN$1,698 (before taxes) with the apple care plan included (which is a must for the use I make of the computer).
