The channel I watched had these very witty pop up messages. Was that part of Lost's telecast or just on CTV? I thought they were great, not only for the humour, but as I missed most of last season, I got up to speed pretty quickly.
On a bad note... how long are they going to drag on more unanswered questions? Like, now we have the "Other - Other's". Who are they? Did I miss something from last season? and hopefully it wont be another couple of seasons to find out. Doubt I can last a fan that long.

KWI - Last night (Wed) was last season's finale, tonight (Thurs) is the season opener
Pilotas - I think it was just the ABC feed - it was on Space as well without the pop-ups. I agree with you about dragging it out. The hardcore fans will likely stay but many other (no pun intended) fans may drift away.

Prediction is this:
Half of the Losties will continue to spend a good chunk of the season being tied up or otherwise held captive while the other half attempts a rescue.
Losties will now get their butts kicked by the "rescuers" from the boat, taking over from the Others.
Jack will continue to be anguished over something or other.
100 new plot lines will be introduced that go nowhere.
100 new mysterious phenomenon will be introduced that will not get solved.
The woman finally learn to share their razors with the men (notice we see a lot of shaved legs but also a lot of scruffy faced men).
Hurley will lose weight
