Lost cell phone = potential biz disaster?!

Has not happened to me of late. And thank heavens when it did some time ago; a couple days later a friend of mine called to say they found it at their place.

Anyway... I usually have a second record of all my numbers (albeit on dozens of pieces of scrap paper and biz cards stuffed in my desk drawers somewhere)... still it would be such a drag to have to reprogram all those #'s again etc.

It happened to a friend of mine last night though. I been trying to reach them all day today... and finally found out they lost their cell and over 1/2 of all their biz contacts and friends etc... they have no other records. Gonna be a big pain in the butt (not to mention revenue loss) to get all those #'s again.

Big drag for sure man.

Anybody else have similar experience or stories to share?

[Never Compromised]

I back my BB up daily to my laptop. I back my laptop up 3X day to an external drive, AND my calendar, Tasks, and contacts are backed up several times daily offsite.

My BB is locked with a security code as well.

If I lose it on the road, I'm going to be pissed that I have to buy a new one, but I will be able to recreate all my data in less than 10 minutes.

how i learned my lesson

last year I had the best and worst expeience ever with my cell. I stupidly take both my hobby and work cell into see a visiting sp. Fucking work cell falls out of my pants somewhere/sometime in the session and i leave without it.

When I realize I don't have my cell I am freaking out. here is a visiting sp whom I have never seen before, with my unlocked work cell. GAWD, maybe she stole it !!! Now I can't reach her and i am certainly not going to drive back and knock on her door uninvited so I fly home and there it is: an email saying I forgot my phone. THANK THE LORD!



Next day she left it at the reception for me and gave me her real name so I could get it. Amazing girl!

Funny thing is I have forgotten her real name. Curiously, I have had a few sp's give me their real name but for some reason I still prefer to use their work names. Kinda odd, I know, but it works better for me.
