It's quite simple, they're not hungry enough to want the win. Phil Jackson has stated he's leaving at the end of the season.

Several of the younger, up and coming teams are maturing and ready to win.

I guess Kobe calling the ref "faggot" offended the locker room gays (oops, I mean guys) ...

I always thought they were overrated even last year when they won. IMO Boston handed the ring to them rather LA taking it from them. Kobe has brainwashed himself thinking that he's MJ and he has a team that should never lose which is nonsense. Mamba is the deadliest playa in the game right now but he doesnt have the true championship team that a MJ, Magic or Bird had. I always thought of Gasol and Lamar as soft and non consistant Fisher can't hang with the young PG's of today so where does this leave LA?

There will never be another Michael Jordan and the Lakers last year got lucky when Kendrick Perkins got injured in game six of the finals. Horseshoes right up Kobe's ass..

I pick the Lakers to get to the western conference final, who their opponent will be is a toss up.

Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Miami. Chicago wins the conference.

Phil Jackson will coach Miami and Dwight Howard will replace Bosh.

If you watch last night game 2, Phil Jackson and Lamar Odom had a heated argument and the lakers defence was hugely confused. Ron Artest bumping into Lamar Odom and then ejected. A Sweep in a making..Goodbye Kobe.

I agreed. I was very disappointed by Kobe's performance last night as a Lakers's fan. Was that the referee who Kobe had argue with last night? Kobe samed lost his confidence himself which I have never seen from before. There is nothing Phil can do about it.

Kobe may lost his career by his uncareful action that he opened his mouth whithout thinking. As we all should learn from this sample: Pls make sure that your mouth can cash out all your words before you open it!!!Good lesson!

I am going to shoot my basketball for 1h today!LOL

This better not be the start of a fast downward trend cause he is owned 90 million dollars in the next 3 years ... Kobe and Gasol have monster contracts and so Lakers are stuck with these two for 3 more years ...
Then, I wish Mr.Kobe could get over it fast, right now!!!The confidence in life is the key to be successful which is very hard to build and very easy to loose......

One of the referees was unfair to Lakers last night that's why they got lost. My 2seconds.

Weird thing about last night's game is everything was even on the boxscore except for the score ...
Shooting from distance was a key factor. Personally, I'm not a big stats guy so I dont know what the numbers are but the disparity in the shooting from distance was fairly evident last night as I watched the game. Marvelous and Steve were cringing everytime the Lakers missed a 3 point shot. To me DAL has the better shooters so they are able to get better floor-spacing, couple that with their ball-movement in the halfcourt sets and they are one of the better executing teams.

What a bunch of no class sore losers from the defending champs; Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum should apologize to both teams for their childish acts. Phil Jackson is finallly retiring and expect the Lakers to make trades during the off season. Bring in Dwight Howard from Orlando to play with Kobe for next season.

Ditto, I don't even know why anyone would bother comparing Kobe Bryant or Le Bron James to Michael Jordan. Remember how James snubbed the Orlando Magic two years ago after their exit from the playoff.

I think they wanted to get thrown out.

It's weird, but I think that guys will do that in order to get taken out of a game like that one. They can't ask the coach to take them off the floor and they can't just go through the motions on the floor, because it looks like they don't care, or that they are cry-babies.

But those dirty fouls will be called "frustration fouls" and in a weird way it makes it look like they were just so passionate and upset that they lost their head. But I really think that they are just trying to hide that they completely don't give a fuck about the game anymore. I think if people pointed out that these guys are really just quitters, who want the refs to bail them out of playing the rest of the game, we would see less of that kind of behavior.

I don't think it's right at all for them to commit classless fouls like that, but there is a weird incentive for them to do it.

I agreed. I am glad that I didn't watch the last game as I knew this was coming. I just want to keep all the good memories in my head and ignore the ugly ones as a lakers fan.

Very disappointing! They should never give up!

Andrew Bynum got a 5 games suspension for the following regular season and a $25,000 fine for his bush league hit. Lamar Odom was lucky..
