NorthPole mentioned this quite a while back and seems to be extremely reluctant to divulge its location.

Now, I've fired up Unison and did a search on Astraweb but could not find it. I also went through Google and it does not show up there.

The Greater Toronto Area Linux User Group states that there are no official GTALUG newsgroups.

http://gtalug.org/wiki/Newsgroups

So, has anyone else heard of this or know where can I find it? Thanks.

FFS! It took about 5 minutes.

There are a few groups in the GTA, but most haven't met in years. I wonder why.

the one exception is;

Knock yourself out.
Perhaps that's due to the FACT Linux is running pretty smooth!
Which contrasts nicely with the busy Apple forums, which suggests things are NOT running that smoothly over in Apple Land!....:D

NorthPole, we're still waiting for you to enlighten us. So far, no one on here can find this Usenet Linux newsgroup of yours.

Will it be just as fictitious as your knowledge of things Chinese? Your knowledge of retail? Your knowledge of how Linux used to be sold in boxes?

What? A whole week and no one can even tell me where this Usenet newsgroup is?

I know that Woodpeckr loves to hold out information if he has it...but you'd have thought that NorthPole in his frequent visits here would rise to the occasion and prove that he actually knows something that can be independently verified.

You're right but the GTALUG said that there is no longer an official Usenet group.
Have YOU verified that by checking it out in Newsgroups.....ijs.....:biggrin1:

Maybe you looked in the wrong place.....which wouldn't be surprising at all because when I used Newsgroups a few years ago there were hundreds of Linux Usenet groups from all over the world.....;)

Well, then, since you're so good with graphics, why don't you show us a pic of this particular newsgroup in action?

Never had to use them, although some peeps like them.
I always preferred the more specific Linux Help Forums to answer any questions I had....
