There has never been a team down 3 games in the NBA playoffs who has won the championship....

My question is - how many times has a team been down 3-1 and won?

Thanks

didnt you answer your question before you asked the question?
No he didn't answer his own question. I think he's refering to Nash and the Suns. They won game #1 but now face a 5-game sweep. That's different from his original comment of starting out losing the 1st three games.

Sorry guys, my bad -

I'm looking for any teams that came back from 3-1 ,either in a series or a championship.

The Suns never had a chance without Amare this year(as well as they did)...not much low post action for them...

Houston in '95 was able to do it. They were down 3-1 against Phoenix, and clinched the series in Phoenix with a last second shot by Mario Elie. I'm not 100% sure, but the Washington Bullets in '78 also made a 3-1 comeback against Seattle. The Celtics in '64 also came back from 3-1 against Philadelphia in the ECFs and knocked out the Lakers in the finals.

For some reason I am sure that the pistons did it recently, but I cannot say when...

Phoenix may end up beating the Lakers but I can't see them going far. Their style of play is exciting and works well in the regular season but playoffs are much more physical, defence oriented and slower paced because everyone's challenging shots and giving hard fouls. New Jersey realized this. That's why they focused on winning through defence rather than trying to be the Phoenix Suns of the East. Unfortunately for them, they have no bench and rely too much on an aging Kidd and a maybe still a bit soft Carter.

I like these playoffs. Anything can happen. Both Miami and San Antonio are having problems too.

Pistons did it in 2003 when Tracy McGrady shot his mouth off about finally getting to the 2nd round with Orlando after they won the 3rd game. Tayshaun Prince then stepped up huge as a rookie to shut the big woman down and hit key baskets. This was the 1 year BS (Before Sheed) and the championship.
