I have a P4 card and I want my direct TV back. Once the HU cards went down I have been missing all the shows and channels. Whats the best price I should expect to get for a subed card a month? I got a quote of $50 a month! I wouldn't mind paying that but that doesn't included unlimited PPV. They say there is no way to clear the PPV's from the P4 card so once you reach the limit then no more PPV's!

I'm looking for the same quote per month! Please PM me where you are able to get that price! But be fore·warned that they're going after dealers that provide this type of service. I think it's worth the risk, cable SUCKS big time!

I'm looking for help with dish network... it's saying good bye Sept. 1st !!!!
Why do you say that?

Didn't they originally say it would be gone in July?

My porn and Vietnamese arm wrestling channels are gone, but besides those, everything is working fine.

Re. DishNet

My source indicates that there is a subscription available for around $50/mth. This only applies to the new yellow card. A far cry from the good old days of freebies.

He also mentioned that there could be something new coming out around mid-September. Hoping that it is self programmable.

Currently, i am getting all channels except the ppv and mid 300s. No porn.
Don't remember ever having the Vietnamese arm wrestling.

Does it matter what reciever you have and the type of card you have?
If you have the older receiver the response (acquiring signal etc.) will be extremely slow as the yellow card has a very large memory. Better to get a new receiver. I was quoted a price of $250 for the yellow card and a new receiver.

I personally am going to wait till mid to end of September. By then hopefully there will be a programmable option.

Yeah, every 10-15 mins a box pops up that says "attention : your smart card does not haves permission to view this channel" it comes back in like 10 seconds, but as you can imagine it's quite annoying.

In terms of the cards, my neighbour, who re-programs my card whenever it needs a fix, told me that it's a lot more difficult to re program the new cards. Do you know if there is any truth to this?

Thanks a lot for your help. It's greatly appreciated.

Sorry, i don't have any knowledge about programming the new DishNet cards. I have not heard anything about the yellow card being hacked.

My knowledge is limited on this issue, but happy to help. That's what we are here for. Well, and other things. ;)

There was some cloning of the Yellow ROM101 cards and they were being sold to suckers for $300 each... they all went down in a week :D

Yes, heard about that scam. People are getting desperate for their fix of free Satellite. Not free in their case though.

They didn't ALL go down and besides there are people running a DVB-S fully open! It's all about what you know, not who you know! ;)

Oh shit.....

Has anyone else's DishNet gone down?

all I have right now is ESPN,ESPNEWS,ESPN Classic,ESPN 2, and a few of the low 200's.

I hope this isn't the beginning of the end.

Dish Network is going down this week.

That being said, do not get suckered by the various scams that are out there.

I shall let everyone know here, in a couple of weeks to the soloution that is in the final testing stages. It is a little bit different than what you are accumstomed to, in that there are NO cards involved at all. NO programming either.

Trust me, you will love it.

You gotta be pulling my leg.

No cards?

I hope you're not talking about the Blackbird systems because those are horrid.

HS,

Do you have DishNet?

Not pulling your leg.........watching TV as right now, all open channels. No Card, No Blackbird.......there is a new receiver that you will need to buy though.

The way it will work is that you will be 'subscribing' to a "membership" the price will vary from 40 to 50 bucks per month. The only other thing that will be required is, that you will need either DSL or Cable internet.

HS,

Sounds pretty crazy.

As long as we are still able to get HBO, MTV, ESPN, Showtime, etc, I'm cool like a fool in a swimming pool.
You will be able to get everything on Dish Network, as well as everything on Bev, as well as everything on XTV.
