I guess I should have been clearer, it does have to be international (i.e. outside North America). Most of them already have pretty good rates for Canada/US.

I wasn't thinking about switching my home service but I'll take a look at Rogers home phone.

Thanks.

Get a phone card

Unfortunately there are many you have to sift through all of them to find the perfect rate for you for the season.

I was once signed up with an outfit called Mondetta and it was a disaster. Remember that you get what you pay for. I get reasonable rates and good service from Primus.

I use a card called 'Calling Card' A $5 card gives me over 9 hours of talk time to the U.K. I don't think any of the phone companies can match a penny a minute.

Metcom...the're in Markham, had no problems for the longest time. Prices are good, but a card I think is cheaper.

Does it have to be international or is USA/Canada OK? I have Rogers home phone for $49./month. It is unlimited long distance all of Canada and USA.
I would update your plan. I have the same deal for 19.95/mo. plus a 10% package discount.

I learned that different cards give better rates depending on the counties you are phoning. I found that the Card Kiosk at Centre Point Mall is a good place to go. He carries many, many cards and will steer you to the card that offers the lowest per minute rate, no connection fee and no minimum call time based on the country that you are calling.

I ended paying 2.9 cents per minute to most countries in Central Europe with no other charges than the time that I was using and the rates to cell phones were the lowest also
