Ok, I worry when I hear London, vehicle, pedestrians hit.
No further update this morning. Police still investigating.
Update: 76 year old female driver lost control, smashed into another vehicle and then smashed into a group of girls (one died).

Sounds like the driver failed to hit the brakes after the shock of the initial impact. This happens to many drivers when they're involved in a collision. They seem to forget to stop the car after the initial impact. There's a lot of really poor drivers on the road. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often.

That's what happened. Investigators then need to determine the cause. But as I suspect, the driver lost control, struck a vehicle then didn't apply the brakes. The vehicle carried on and mowed down the pedestrians.
Collisions at intersections happen all the time. It's amazing more people aren't struck. Unfortunately it's a case of wrong place at the wrong time. Sad for the victim's families.
