Living in Miami now and what a change from living in Ontario

Hey Folks,

I've made a move to Miami to be closer to my SO, she took a job offer down here to work at another hospital which she couldn't refuse. Anyway I'm still running my business up here in Toronto but it is a allot of work to do so, but thankfully I found a great GM that I can trust to run things without me being there. Although I'm back in town for a week or so to final up come contract deals that needed me to be here to work out.

Anyway, it is a nice change to move to a warmer climate but I tell you the weather down here is up and down like a yo yo, but still have a good days. I miss my home and the outdoors that is available to me in the country side. I tell u it is a huge difference. I see the weather is starting to warm up here, and looking outside here the trees in my backyard is starting to bud a little. Now I find my days down in Miami, a little boring, I'm a type of guy that like to be on the go all the time and I miss answering the phones and talking with my clients, now I just deal with my employees. There is a whole allot of beautiful ladies down here and to my surprise allot of mature (VERY HOT) woman that have allot of time on their hands too. Why I'm saying mature because I'm in my late late 20's (29yrs) and they most of them are smoking hot to me.. lol...

The housing market down here is taking a hit, I see allot of nice homes up for sale and I'm assuming allot of banks are foreclosing, and selling them at unbelievable prices. I feel for the people that loose their homes, but to investors in the housing market it can be a potential money maker when the market gets back going again. I have an uncle that lives here and he has bought up 7 homes free and clear so far, and have them all rented out at reasonable prices. I've see him numbers on this and he will make a very decent profit when the market gets back to normal and he decided to sell. It is making myself thinking about other business opportunities down here, but it is going to be hard for me as I'm not officially allowed to work down there and the laws are totally different down there. I'm just on a long vacation down here as the U.S.custom officers were told :).

Enough babbling...Oh... We still have it good up there no matter what people are saying, for 1 thing i can say gas prices are so crazy down there it is not funny..

Take Care,
Svt

Yes, there a lot of hot ladies in South Florida. Many are of Spanish/Cuban descent they are sexy.
Have you been through a summer in Florida yet? If not, be prepared.
It its very hot...almost suffocating. After 9 or 10 in the morning everyone is inside an A/C environment (homes, malls, office). It's nice to go to the beach in the late afternoon or early evening because it's much cooler.
Enjoy.
I agree about it being hot in the summer. Last August I was in the area and it was 99 degrees F every day. Great weather (no rain/storms) and I like the heat so it didn't bother me THAT much. Best time to hit the beach is 4:30-7:00 pm - sun dips behind the tall condos and the ocean is a bathtub like 84F. If only the ocean was that warm in the winter (in the winter the water is 71 F and I need a wetsuit to surf at that temp).

I noticed there were some hot Brazilian SP's in Miami Beach advertising. Hobbying is more risky and expensive down there than in T.O., but I never had a problem in the few instances I went exploring.

Wear facial sunscreen as a lot of locals have faces that are pretty sun ravaged by the time they are in their mid-40's if they don't take care (wear a hat/wear sunscreen/avoid being outdoors for long between 12-3 pm).

Have fun!

Miami Weather

The problem with Miami weather - all of Florida actually - is the humidity, not so much the temperature. The combination of the two is awful. Take a shower, walk outside and you're sweaty in a minute or less and feel as if you need another shower. It's California's lack of humidity which makes its coastal weather so attractive. Here, in L.A., we are occasionally subject to storms coming up from Mexico. They're uncommon but they bring with them the humidity which is pervasive in coastal Mexico. For those few days, if in Summer, L.A. feels like Miami. I also doubt the accuracy of the statements about outdor comfort from 4:30 pm when the sun begins its declination. It's still hot and sweaty and that lasts most of the night. Its similar to the desert Southwest, including inland Southern California, where Summer days are hot - 100+ every day from June 1st through September 30th - which does not permit night times to be cool. They are still hot and dry. Typically, nighttime Summer temps in, say, Phoenix where I lived for a couple of years, are still in the 90s. It's identical in Palm Springs. The difference between inland California/the Southwest and Miami is the same as the difference between baking and braising. Either way, you're cooked.

Ahh but you can be an investor. This is a good time to be a real estate investor in the US...particularly south of the Mason Dixon Line.

How depressing.

Doesn't know the difference between "loose" and "lose"...but still beats me all to hell by running a successful business...and younger to boot.

Just kidding guy....it's only jealousy that prompted me to post. ;)

Good Evening,

Basically I'm home sick, but I'm glad to be back for a short time.. I love my life up here in the country side on the west side of T-Dot. I basically grew up here since I was 10yrs old and love the country life. Miami is totally different and it will take me some time to get use to it, some people down there are so stuck up it isn't funny. Although I will always stay a Canuck and I don't think I will move down here permanently.

As for hobbying down there and up here, honestly I haven't looked into it and I haven't seriously hobbying within the last year or so. I've inquired about it but things never works out with me because my schedule is up and down and my put my business ahead of anything when it come to the hobby. My finace likes the hobby with myself also, she has accompained me to some T.O. ladies and we had a blast. We attended to some adult clubs here but nothing fancy. Stuff alweays happens to me since I got into this hobby, the ladies and I become good friends and I don't know they open up so much to me about their real personl lives, which isn't funny and in the end I know more about them. Now I'm know I will get flamed about saying "Good Friends" but in all honesty the client/sp relationship is gone and more on a personal touch. In all though I'm busy relaxing and taking long drives throughout the neighborhoods, getting lost everyday and just enjoying the time. I still log into Terb all the time, I just like seeing what people are posting. It funny though, my bank froze my accounts, they know that I'm in the U.S but when I log onto the web, I'm vpn into my home systems and surfing that way and they thought my account has "hijacked". It took me a long time to get that sorted out.

LJ: I guess it is my bad, but thanks for correcting my grammar. We need people like yourself around here :) LOL. I didn't do it buy myself bud, I started this when I was in high school with 2 other friends, they ended up leaving to pursue other things and I took it over in the end and brought it to what it is today. Most of my business it word of mouth/references from my clients. I have no overhead as I run my business from my home on a fairly new 2900sqft addition to my home, and I rarely do advertise. It took allot of hard work but it is paying off. I would haven't been able to be where I'm am today, if it wasn't for my loyal employees, of course I pay them extremely well, but they are more then my employees they have become a part my extended family, and I will do anything for them. I'm still learning the "ropes" day to day, it is learning process and implement what I learned into my business, and take allot of risk too..

I take it we have corresponded in the past?

No I haven't stayed in Florida long enough in the summer time to get the full effect of the weather. Now you've got my attention, because I'm not a hot weather type of guy, even though I'm from South America. I guess I've gotten use to the canuck weather and honestly I like winter more than summer.

Mia Colpa: As above statement, I like the canuck weather. Well cooler weather, I don't like the heat anymore, and I'm not worried about getting a tan as I have a 365 days all year tan, I'm just a little lighter in the winter months. LOL LOL As for the cobra (Sassy). She has been in the back of my garage here all winter long, and I'm hopeing to get time to get her off the lift, onto some new rubber, refresh her with fresh fluids sometime this week, and get her on the road. I'm not planning on takeing her to down to Miami at this time, that is allot of paper work to get her US bound. Although when I'm up here I may take her for road trip to Miami once in awhile but she is not staying down there.

You can't have pets, in South Florida, they get eaten alive by sand fleas. Summer is too hot, hurricane season is about to start in a couple months time to get the f---k out there:eek:

I have no worries about "pets". I like them but I'm allergic to dogs, and cats. It's an awesome excuse to not to have them..LOL.. As for hurricane season, Oh well it just going to be a different adventure.
