This has been a few years coming. Should have cut ties about 3/4 years ago. He lost the room and the guys were no longer skating hard for him.

It is a bittersweet day, as Ruff gave 15 years to the Sabres. Lindy did do some good things with the team but every well eventually dries up and his time has come.

I am a Sabres fan, have been since the 70's and my favourite hockey game experiences are Sabres playing at the Aud, near the glass and when players would hit the boards, the boards would bend towards the seats. Great place to see a game.

Here is to hoping for a new start for the Sabres and Pegula.

Thanks Lindy!!

Burke might be a good fit down there.

after all, he would be close to the baby, and able to commute better than say, CALGARY .

It's always the coach who gets the axe first when the team isn't doing well. Hopefully for the Sabres sake they can turn things around with a new coach.

I wonder how long before someone picks up Lindy?

This ought to shake a lot of people up, one story has the Sabres talking to Ron Wilson.

I think they have an interim coach because of Darcy's shaky status. Why hire a "permanent" coach now, when they could have a new GM soon. Let him hire the next coach.
Petulant is a fan first and an owner second. Pegula, Ted Black and Ken Sawyer will get together on the next GM with Pegula having final say, naturally. As a fan, he may once again look to the teams past for its future and hire someone with a history with the team, like Rick Dudley, Larry Carriere, or Don Luce. Coaching possibilities? Patrick Roy has been mentioned, but if you are looking for ex Sabres Craig Ramsay and Mike Peca come to mind.
It is going to get interesting in Sabreland.
