Need to watch the calories and carbs more now...so being forced into the world of light beers!!! Not so much interested in lower alcohol content.
Normally I drink a variety of small craft breweries Perth, Sawdust, etc. because they have, for me, a better taste than the ol'Molsons...
Does anybody have any recommendations for good light beers? Something a notch up from Coors Light or Bud Light....
What do you drink in light beers?

In the craft beer world the term for light beer is "session", as in a session Ale or session IPA. Session ales may also go under the name "blondes" (I think just for marketing) if that helps your search. I usually drink bigger beers (like imperial IPAs) but maybe I can point you to some good breweries.

Perth and Sawdust are both excellent breweries. What specific area are you in? Might be worth it to drop by some local breweries for a taste.

Thanks,
I'm in Toronto....Used to drink Upper Canada and Creemore...like Barking Squirrel, but it isn't a light beer. So any other Toronto craft brewers I should sample?

Well if you are talking just Toronto then you are "limited" to these craft breweries:

Amsterdam Brewing Co.
Bandit Brewery
Barrel House
Batch
Bellwoods Brewery
Big Rock Brewery
Black Creek Historic Brewery
Black Oak Brewery
Blood Brothers Brewing
Burdock
Common Good Beer Co.
Cool Beer Brewing Company
Eastbound Brewing Co.
Folly Brewpub
Godspeed Brewery
Goose Island Brewhouse
Granite Brewery
Great Lakes Brewery
Halo Brewery
Henderson Brewing Co.
High Park Brewery
Indie Alehouse
Junction Craft Brewing
Kensington Brewing Company
Lansdowne Brewery
Laylow Brewery
Left Field Brewery
Longslice Brewery
Lost Craft Beer
Louis Cifer Brew Works
Mascot Brewery
Mill Street Brewery
Muddy York Brewing Co.
Northern Maverick Brewing Co.
People’s Pint
Radical Road Brewing Co.
Rainhard Brewing Co.
Rorschach Brewing Co.
Saulter Street Brewery
Steam Whistle

LOL Just to give you a place to start looking, I bet some of these might be close to where you are so you can drop in and sample. Most will/should have a "blonde" or lighter beer to not scare away the people that walk in and say they usually drink Coor's light <-- don't be that guy.

What I like is a LOT different than what you're looking for but quality wise some of my favorites are Town Brewery, Collective Arts, Bellwood, Big Rig, Whiprsnapr, Left Field, Brock St., Great Lakes, Nickel Brook, Elora, Amsterdam, somewhat in that order. And again most have something lighter so far as I know so worth looking into.

I see from the beers you listed you like more polite, maltier beers. It might be worth it to look into other styles that have more flavour. You might not be saving calories per beer so much as they are more sipping beers so you will drink them more slowly a.k.a. drink less of them without sacrificing vitamin A.

FWIW the LCBO is a great place to get craft beer and you can buy them one can at a time so you can sample to see what you like from different styles and breweries that might not be so local. Also check out different LCBOs as they do not all carry the same stock. Craft Beer Market downtown T.O. has a ton too, get a flight or three so you are only trying ~4oz of each beer at a time.

Sorry I can't give you any specific beer recommendations but I hope this helps you get started. Happy hunting!

I have to admit I just kind of copy and pasted that list, I didn't realize Ace Hill wasn't on it. They have a pretty good Pilsner.

I am similarly trying to trim the waistline, and have discovered Amsterdam Pale Rider. Hoppy and delicious. Only 4.2%, so a 473ml can has only 168 calories.

As a general rule, you can estimate the calories in a beer with the formula; abv x oz x 2.5.
