Give up your guns so we can send them to Ukraine.

Trudeau's government is literally insane. They go to bat for every country except the one they're supposed to represent.

May this be the nail in the coffin of Trudeau's despicable regime.

I know, absolutely insane. It's like they're setting up a trap, so they can say to anyone that's against the ban/buy-back, that they're against helping the people of Ukraine. Pathetic!

T.O.
The Trudeau government is up to more dumb shit that won't make the slightest difference to the crime rate or murders in this country. Is there no end to the ways they'll waste our money?

Glad they've got their finger on the pulse of Canadians. (Sarcasm)

Thoughts?

Don't you feel safer already? :D

I'm not a gun owner and I hate guns but like I said before this has nothing to do with safety and crime rates, the libs are down in the polls
and need to do something. If gun control as an issue doesn't work they'll raise abortion as an issue.

That's the question, does anyone living in Canada actually feel safer knowing the government has banned these weapons? If you answer yes, knowing virtually no gun crimes are committed by legal gun owners and certainly not with these types of guns, how on earth do you feel safer? It's nuts!

Also choosing the announcement during the time of the 35th anniversary of the Montreal Polytechnique massacre. Nice grandstanding and virtue signaling on the dead bodies of those young women, what a shameless asshole. Everyone knows, especially the police, that this accomplishes absolutely nothing, how about going after the black gangs in Toronto or the Indigenous gun running and smuggling, ...ooops, that`s racist. Or perhaps even our own border services where 89% of the illegal firearms used in crimes enter from the U.S. through our swiss cheese borders. The buyback, when and if, could amount to over 2 billion dollars, sounds like a solid use of tax dollars. I`ve heard that insurance premiums for gun store owners have gone sky high as they sit on banned firearms, a ton of expensive inventory they can do nothing with. Congrats to Trudeau though for destroying the Liberal party, well done sir. (y)

I have a bunch of friends who are cops. They say they often know who's carrying guns, but since carding was banned, they're no longer allowed to search perps in an effort to get guns off the streets. You can say that either good or bad, but the truth is, they know the cops can't touch them which is one reason why there's been an increase in gun crimes.

"In Toronto, there have been 126 more shootings so far this year compared to the same period last year, according to the police data portal. With a total of 395 incidents since January, it also marks the most shootings the city has seen in four years."

Anyone want to guess what percentage of those shootings were carried out by legal gun owners using banned riffles? Trudeau's focus is so misguided and amounts to nothing more than wasteful spending. Typical though...

It doesn't matter. Even in 2024, the typical liberal reads this headline, just as they have read similar ones for 40+ years, and thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread to reduce gun violence.

They're lazy and ensconced in their own belief of intellectual superiority on the matter.

How dare you. Peoplekind is in good hands under the blackface groper in chief.

Spending? Throw in another million Indian immigrants and call it even.

We can let another million Indian economic invaders in when the 5 million leave when their visa`s expire in the next 13 months. At least that`s what Trudeau and his band of fuckwit`s expect to happen, they will "just leave", because it`s the right thing to do. How does PP unwind this shitshow?

The death throes of a government desperately clinging to power. Gun control has always been a wedge issue and license to burn money for Liberals.

"If it just saves one life...."

I would suspect that this is in line with the pulse of Canadians. Many urban Canadians only experience with semi-autos is from crime and many rural Canadians see guns as tools and semi-auto long guns have limited utility, especially with the 5 cartridge capacity limits. In past discussions, I've been told of two 'needs' for semi-auto rifles, to eliminate feral pigs (a government activity) and to put down a wounded animal (because for some reason, charging the bolt would take too long).

I'd also be fine with much stronger restrictions on hand guns and more effort to limit smuggling from the massive market down south. Shooting guns can be fun but that doesn't diminish the need for safety regulations.

Goes on one fake hunting trip, thinks he has the "pulse" of Canadians and still can't answer why law enforcement "need" semi-autos for themselves if they're allegedly so "inferior" and dangerous.
