LG G2 vs HTC One

I’m in the market for a new phone and was wondering if anybody has any experience with either one (or both) of these phones.
I was leaning towards the One when I went to Rogers but the salesperson said they’ve seen quite a few come back with problems. I like the One for is style/design, supposedly great speakers and Sense 5 UI. I like the G2 for its screen size, battery life and cutting edge specs/ processor. It seems like the One is a refined, classy luxury sedan while the G2 is a sports car with bright orange paint, glowing lights under the car with front and rear spoilers.

Am I right in my assessment? Anybody have any advice?

Get the Nexus 5.
It has almost the same components as the G2.
It is cheaper @ 350 and 400 outright and it's pure Google, none of the Carrier crap that is put on the phones.

I second this advice... Get a nexus 5 and go with Fido or Virgin Mobile ... $59 for unlimited talk and texts, no roaming and 2gb data?

If the primary purpose for your smart phone is to have all of the bells and whistles and not just phone reasonable camera good display (for which on a cost basis the nexus 5 is getting very good reviews at several tech review sites), and HTC is a strong consideration, my recollection is that the next model from what rumors say is well along the way to release. You may want to see some sites like Gizmodo, Engadget and Techradar on that aspect and also for what they say on the two models you are considering.

the hobby needs more capitalism
Get the Nexus 5 or the HTC One. Both solid phones.

The Nexus 5 is priced really well but does have some compromises. The camera and battery are the biggest ones. But you'll always get OS updates quickly from Google.

The HTC One is more well rounded. Really good battery life, better camera, boomsound and blinkfeed. Boomsound are really loud speakers placed on the front. Blinkfeed is like Google Reader for news and sports news. Really useful.

I got a Nexus 5 to replace my Galaxy Nexus (I'm such an Apple fanboy!!!!) on my 2nd line. If the HTC One was available in 5" screen, I probably would have went with that.

The G2 is a really nice phone. You wouldn't be disappointed with it. I was thinking Nexus 5 too but decided on the G2. It's equal to or better than the Nexus in every regard other than OS updates and price.
