Hey,

You know, there's gotta be money in this or else people wouldn't do it. There's so many complaints out here about the MP scene in Kitchener/Waterloo and Cambridge... anyone ever think of starting up their own place?

How hard can it be? If prices are lower we'd have an edge, and I know lots of hot women who'd be up for the job/cash.

Then again, perhaps the other owners in the area would want to kick our asses.

Has this never crossed anyone's mind?

Perhaps I'll get flamed for mentioning the idea but it doesn't seem so awful to me. PM if you feel more comfortable.

I like your idea, but it is the legal aspect of the business that stops so many people from getting into it. You have to get a license, and the gov't only gives out so many of them. They are expensive, and MP's always get faced with legal issues. But yes, over time, it could be a great money maker. You would probably need around $250, 000 startup to run a decent MP. Although in KW, the MP's are so crappy you could probably get away with $50, 000 to start.

I agree,lets pool our resources and fire one of theses MP"s up and have the best of both worlds $$$...plus fringe benefits..

$250,000?

With the amount of money we have all spent trying to find a decent MP in this area, we could have combined our money and opened up a national chain of massage parlours. If we don't get fire bombed like Phoenix did a few years ago, we might have a decent chance. I still think that Guelph Amoratherapy is the best place in the area and I doubt very highly it cost them $250,000 to start up. But then again, maybe $200,000 of that estimate was used to pay off the local licensing department.

$250, 000 may be a bit high, but in my opinion, if I opened up an MP, I would want to do it right.....I'm talking fine detail to each room. Showers in all of the rooms and professional massage tables. A speaker system that goes throughout the MP, a waiting room with leather couches, satellite TV, and a water cooler. All of the rooms would have many large, soft towels, and different ammenities that would make the whole experience worthwhile. I'm sick of these run down MP's that are old houses and are shitholes....no showers, and just a terrible atmosphere. Believe me, if you put a little bit of money in, you would get a lot of money out!
