The Raptor's have really sucked lately, I've stopped watching there games.

Do you guys think Lenny Wilkens should be fired? He's a nice guy, but they should be doing a lot better with the players on the team. I think maybe they need a new coach.

They should and will fire him when the season is done. They need him to lose the rest of the way to get a better crack at Lebron James.

I don't really think so. The Raps are shitty this seasons only because of injuries and that does much injustice to the coach. No matter how wise the coach is, if the players are injured, the team is going to loose. Just look at the Lakers under the leadership of Phil Jackson. Without Shaq, they sucked like shit. Now that everyone on the team is healthy, they are winning again and possibly another title [which I personally do not like].

Lamond Murray was one of the deals the Raps made, but yet, he has never played a single game. With him on offence, I am sure the Raps could have done better then this ...

But that's just mt 0.02 cents.

PS - I don't know what the fuck is wrong with Miami. They've got the talent but the team record is so shitty. If a head coach should be fired this season, it should be Pat Riley regardless of the fact that he is a living legend .....

Every season since Pat Riley, I am amazed at a how poorly Miami does.

But with Toronto, with many (most) of their players back from injury they still suck. I think its time for a new coach.

I'd take Riley over Wilkins any day. Wilkins doesn't know how to set up plays. How many times have the Raptors been able to execute a play that was drawn up during a time out? Almost never. Butch Carter was better at coaching the Raptors than Lenny is, he just said a few stupid things. Butch Carter's plays almost always worked. I think the players have also lost interest in Wilkins. It's time for him to go.

Raptors Coach

Definitely a coaching change is a smart move. The Raptors need a new direction, and a new team attitude for next season. Of course injuries have hurt the team all year, but in most of the games from February until now, the Raptors have not played well.

Unfortunately, Lebron James will not help the Raptors or any team for at least 3 seasons, and the Raptors probably will pick around #3-4 (odds of course) in the draft since Denver, Cleveland and Miami are below in the standings.

Glaring needs for the Raptors:

A perimeter defender!
A more consistent starter than Morris Peterson
A second scoring option to Vince Carter (Lamond Murray??)
A true point guard
Vince Carter to get stronger!

A line-up of Lamond Murray, Antonio Davis, Michael Bradley, Vince Carter and Alvin Williams would be a good starting five. But they will need to step up on defence big-time!

I like this set-up:

Coach: Jeff Van Gundy

PG: Alvin Williams
SG: Vince Carter
SF: Lebron James
PF: Jerome Williams
C: Antonio Davis

Here you have three solid defenders and two scorers.
Lebron James will only need a year to warm up. Lebron should replace McGrady very nicely. The Raps just have to win the lottery.

Wilkens should go, and he should take Vince with him. Carter gets an average of 20 pts/game, when other superstars get 35, 40 or 50/game. I think he needs a change of scenery.

Hey Bandit, you mean 20 points when he feels like playing, don't you? It pissed me off how he suddenly got better for the all-star game. What a miracle! Lenny should get the boot too.

Why would you want a coach who can't get a team to average over 95+ ppg? When Van Gundy was with the Knicks, the Knicks had problems scoring even though they had four 20+ ppg players in Patrick Ewing, Allan Houston, Latrell Sprewell, and Larry Johnson.

I'd rather have a young coach who knows this team like Brian James from Washington. Did you ever notice that this team started going down hill when James defected to Washington? If we want to be a good defensive team, then we should also consider hiring Dick Harter. He was the brainchild of Pat Riley's defensive system which Jeff Van Gundy, Jim O'Brien, and Larry Bird used.

There is no guarantee that we are going to get Lebron James. A buddy of mine who is a mod for one of the Raptor boards suggest that we take the best player available and trade him for some quality size because he feels that it is the Raptor's biggest weakness.

Here and there
Raptors

Raptors are sad, sad team. They should fire GM first then Leny and then Vince. Get some new talent and rebuild the whole team.

I don't plan to see anymore games until they change something. And they're overpaid big time. Vince 15 mil, Lenny 6 mil, JYD 4.5 mil and so on. A bunch of sissies and losers. The team is run by Vince's mother.

A list of mistakes:
- McGrady. They let him go. The guy is all star and the team leader.
- Hakim. Why would you buy an old horse? To bury him?
- Vince and his mother. They have organized the whole team around him and his mother. The guy has no leadership skills, gets injured too easy like he has glass legs...
- Lenny. Have you ever seen Lenny yelling at his players? Nope, of course. He treats them like grandkids. Maybe because he's a granddad? Players have to respect the coach and it's not bad if they're scared of him.

Look to the top

Whether there is success or failure, one must always look to the top. The Raptors had a not-so-good year last year, but made the playoffs anyway. This year the had a dismal year. True, many players were injured. But on the whole, the team has not played with any vigour, nor has it displayed any real desire to win.

Lenny seems like a really nice guy, but he has to go. And Vince has to be told in no uncertain terms that he will improve or he will leave. Vince is too on & off - he needs to consistently be the superstar that he's capable of being. The Raptors can give him another chance to show that consistency and lead the team, but if he hasn't improved by mid next season, he's got to go.

This just in...

Well it's official, Lenny Wilkins will not return as Head Coach of the Raptors.

Official Statement: It was a mutual decision between Lenny & Glen.

I think Glen Grunwald gave a classy coach a way to save face. So question is, Who will be the next Raptors Head Coach?

Well, at least he went out in style by tanking the last 8 games. The Raptors finish with the third worst record in the league. Yes!!!

This means the Raps have a really good shot at either Lebron James or Carmello Anthony.
