So, my role at work has changed slightly recently and I have started to oversee some temporary foreign workers.
I thought it was only going to be for a few weeks, but it seems that now it will be for a few months at least, and it may repeat year-over-year going forward.
So I am looking at learning basic functional Spanish.
I have looked at multiple options... am I right to think that RosettaStone seems to be the best for this kind of thing?

Any first hand experience?

I've heard very good things about Rosetta Stone from a couple of friends but haven't used it myself. Thinking about using it for French.

I have an obsession with learning languages and have tried many methods, sites and apps over the years. Let me say off the bat many will recommend Duolingo and Rosetta stone, both in my opinion are completely useless, the first is a nice memorization app, the second a ridiculously expensive one that teaches nothing valuable.

Before you begin any language learning, you have to set yourself a goal, what is your goal in Spanish? Is it to travel, read difficult novels etc, set one and it'll be easier to motivate yourself. Having said all that I recommend this site, they offer 30 free days, see how you like it. Also start to read in Spanish, get children's books, there are some great podcasts to listen to, download an app called Language Learning With Netflix. Learning a language should be an adventure and fun, otherwise you won't stick to it.

This is the site I mentioned
