Zach Sill is no prospect at 26. A career minor leaguer who was a 13th or 14th forward in his first full season with the Pens. He'll be with the Marlies next year if the Leafs bring him back.
He is put in the deal cause Leafs had to take salary in the trade cause Pens are so up against the cap
Leafs paying half of Winnik's remaining salary. I don't think Leafs care about Sill either, they just wanted the draft picks.

This is basically like trading Clarkson for a bag of pucks cause Horton will never play again aside from playing with his wife of course.
Well, that and the $5.25M in cap space that Clarkson won't be taking up for the next 5 seasons.
Will Nathan Horton announce his retirement? That's what this deal is all about and if he does will that create even more cap space?
No incentive to retire .. There was a story that he more worried about leading a normal life then playing hockey again . He has 5 more years of getting paid and if you retire you don't get paid anymore

How this trade is genius is Leafs can trade Phil or Dion and keep 2 million of their contract on their books . Dion at 5 million or Phil at 6 million being traded can fetch you a boat load of pics and prospects . Trading those two at their present salary would fetch you little to nothing . Hope this makes sense
